Guess they're moving Tatis to 2B or an OF position...

@JeffPassan:
Shortstop Xander Bogaerts and the San Diego Padres are in agreement on an 11-year, $280 million contract, a source familiar with the deal tells ESPN. A monster contract and the Padres, after missing Trea Turner and Aaron Judge, get the longtime Red Sox shortstop.

Really that much for Bogaerts? Crazy I know he is pretty good now but don’t see that aging as well as the Turner deal.

@JeffPassan:
Right-hander Kodai Senga and the New York Mets are in agreement on a five-year, $75 million contract, sources familiar with the agreement tell ESPN. There were a few last-minute questions about the deal being finalized, but they got worked out and Senga is a Met pending physical.

I'm surprised a so-called phenom isn't betting on himself and signed a 5 year deal for relatively cheap. I'd have thought he'd do a two year deal for a higher price, then go for more after that.

BREAKING: Shortstop Carlos Correa and the San Francisco Giants are in agreement on a 13-year, $350 million contract, a source familiar with the deal tells ESPN.

They are really extending the term on these deals to get the AAV down.

Correa won't be a SS for half of that deal.

Carlos Rodon to the Yankees. 6 years, 162 million.

Great.

Swanson for 7/177. That was like the last possible big SS signing people were hoping for to bump Bo to 2b. Obviously that’s not happening.

Reports out of Boston Rafael Devers is likely headed to free agency next winter.

Imagine drafting/signing young talents like Mookie Betts, Xander Bogaerts, and Rafael Devers and then getting rid of all three of them in their prime with nothing to show for it. Yikes Lol

Sounds like there’s an issue with Correa’s physical.

Can’t help but laugh a bit. He may not have been a cheater, who knows, but his response was as arrogant as they come. Totally happy the Jays stayed clear of him. Talent or not he’s a jerkoff.

I've never liked Correa since he whined about Osuna taking his time to get the final out one game the Jays beat the Astros.

Correa seems to be loved by his teammates, albeit in a very different way than Springer. Frankly might be the kind of leader the Jays could use.

A couple of years ago he had a fractured rib and missed months, which he claimed was from a “massage”. Lots of speculation of what it was really from.

So the Correa deal with the Giants fell through, and he has now signed for 12 years with the Mets.

Good grief

Mets payroll at $380 million. Which would trigger about $100 million in luxury tax.

Correa switching to 3B. Jeter and A-Rod anyone?
