Celebrated Square Root Day

Didn't you sell a bunch of upcoming tickets though? Wouldn't those get canceled on whoever bought them now?
Or I guess you could just ask them to keep those ones uncancelled. I actually had no idea you could even cancel mid season.

yes they want to back charge all the way to game 1, an Additional $347 that's what bothered me

backcharging the games that have already taken place, while you were a STH, seems pretty harsh and unnecessary.

Asking you to pay more for tickets you already donated to sledge hockey.
Hmmmm I wonder if the Flames are interested in the news hearing about this.

I would even question the legality of trying to add additional charges for a ticket to an event you've already attended. I just don't think there's any scenario where that flies.

But in the end he turned out to not be a season ticket holder. The discount was given on those games based on an expectation he'd be buying a ticket to every Flames game, but he didn't do that.
IDK, I just think it's pretty nice the Flames are letting him out of his commitment on the season tickets. This seems like a very reasonable "penalty" - that is, just paying for what he used at the non-discounted rates since he doesn't qualify for a discount.

I'd just be grateful I got out of the Flames tickets if I were him. I'm certain they could have said tough #### and not refunded those. I have to think they gave back a lot of money compared to what they're keeping, which again, is just the fair value of the ticket based on the changed circumstances.
If I were the Flames and somebody started complaining about this, I'd just say fata it, keep the season tickets. No refunds.

i agree it's nice of them to refund the remaining games i paid for, i just mostly want to make sure i'm not being taken. If the consensus is it's right and I should pay, i will

i paid about $3900 im not getting back the refund is just over $700. so they aren't giving back alot compared to what i paid.

Personally I think the Flames are being fairly generous with allowing a mid-season breakage of a STH. I don't know where I have put my T&C's but I remember looking through them and they are fairly clear on not permitting refunds for mid-season breakages. They are leaving some money on the table especially since the games are not filling as expected - in fact a lot more money than what they are trying to claw back.

i sent an email to acknowledge that I know they didn't have to offer a refund and to thank them for doing it. I asked to just cancel both, so, we'll see what happens, again I didn't mind just keeping wranglers for calgary sledge hockey at the sth price but i don't think it makes sense for me to pay another $347 if I can't attend, would be wasting $.

I don’t see the issue either. There are consequences to reneging on deals.
But I think just talking to the Flames and explaining the issue would go further than threatening a public shaming. Sure, the Flames will probably capitulate, but seems like a jerk move.

If you normally can get out of season’s tickets and have the rest refunded but they’re saying you have to backpay to cover the deal you got on Wranglers tickets, that’s kind of ####ty.
Same policy either way, I understand, but I guess the difference is: have they already done you a favour worth more than the ####ty policy? if so, accept the ####ty policy. if not, I’d be pissed about the nickel and diming.

i'm not really even sure if they are supposed to refund or if they are going above and beyond, maybe that is the normal policy? in the end i will most likely pay because it's just coming off the refund, not like i have to pay out of pocket really anyways. i just thought it sounded a little fishy and I naturally have my guard up all the time.

no shaming intended, just wanted to hear input from you guys if it sounded right, and your input helped, i feel a lot better. I don't think my thread title or post suggests i'm trying to threaten a public shaming? and i am talking with customer service (they have been awesome in every interaction)
