Holloway is an excellent prospect, but as with most high picks in the Oilers system, he's well on his way to being ruined. Holloway is like a more physical Dawson Mercer, and we all can see how well he's doing. That should he Holloway.

Remember he's one of the the best two way forwards in the league. He's just lazy.

Is that Yessie's Dad? Doesn't look like his name on the back though

But I thought he was elite defensively when he tries?

I think it says "dad's trip" on the back. Anyways you can tell by his nostrils that its his dad.

McStatspad and Drycoaster are a combined 8 pts and -11 in the last 5 games. But +/- isn't a stat. They aren't replacing what they are giving up. Somehow I feel like it began being broadcasted as not an important stat when McDavid came into the league. It would make sense......

One minute of analysis is all it takes to see how to fix that team.
With McDavid and Draisaitl, they are elite on the PP, and they have a good chance of winning the special teams battle, most nights. So all they have to do is make 5 on 5 a non-event. Just play low event, low scoring hockey, 5 on 5, and they are in good shape. Those 2 aren't putting up many points 5 on 5 anyway, and they are getting scored on too much because they coast, in order to save their energy for offensive chances. So reduce their ice-time, convince them to back-check (LOL), utilize (and engage) the bench more, and they would be better 5 on 5. Then let them do their thing on the PP.
This is all obvious to a 10 year old. And yet here we are, in McDavid's 8th season, and they haven't made one inch of progress on how to manage the team.

This 100%. But that wouldn't allow them to pad their personal stats and win personal awards like scoring races and Hart Trophies. I have said it a billion times, neither of those players give a single rip about winning and it is obvious to everyone in the sporting world outside of the Edmonton media and fanbase.

FWIW Mercer was ranked above Holloway in every ranking I remember. Some by a fair margin (7-10 slots).

Not to mention the gnashing of fans teeth as they complain that McDavid isn't allowed to do constant fly bys up the neautral zone waiting for a pass because he has to play team defense.

Holloway is a decent prospect but he is far from being a Blue Chip prospect. His ceiling is likely 2nd line wing and his floor 3rd line. If you are an Oilers fan though he is going to be top line winger potting 35-40 goals within a couple seasons.

Some Oiler fans had him a shoo-in for the Calder.

I think his floor is what we are seeing now. A marginal NHL player playing on the fourth line for a team with huge problems with their depth.
He may not progress from there.

Oilers already lead the league in powerplays afforded by the officials. It's clear the organization and whiney media and fans have had an effect on how their games have been officiated. What else do they want?

You just know, beyond a shadow of a doubt, that there is some agreement, written or otherwise, between McDavid and the organization (probably all the way up to Katz) that Conna dictates how he operates and therefore how the team operates and how it is coached. He gets all the ice time he wants, 100% of pps and 100% of empty net time. He chooses his line mates. He plays almost exclusively on the offensive side of the puck. No reasonable coach would run a team this way.
He and his dad want a legacy of art ross, hart trophy victories and to be #2 in all time points. I think they just assumed that he would get cups along the way, but it is this entitled attitude that sinks him and his team over and over again.
