I thought Lucic was noticeable beyond just his goal. His best game in a long while.

I have thought for the past few years that he wasn’t up for being a regular NHLer and I’d expect him in the press box for several games a year.

I think that he is a textbook instance of a player who will benefit from playing fewer games. 45-55 games will get the best out of Lucic.

Whatever happened to backlundsrocks? He used to get the forum riled up complaining about the same stuff over and over during the GT's.

I think we also need to keep in mind how truly awful the Sharks looked last night. He had a good game and I'm happy for him (still think he played too much) but they also gave everyone more time and space than I've seen all year.

They finally put Huberdeau on the left wing and Lindholm on the right wing on the pp and they started doing the east-west pass from which Lindholm scored like 10 goals last year. It resulted in 2 great scoring opportunities, and made the pp look more dangerous than probably any other game I watched.

Weird, it is such an obvious thing to do but it took them so long. Just utilize what the players are good/special at...

After this game I feel it’s about a 100% chance the Flames faceplant in the next one. Sharks were so bad last night and they’ll be complacent.

That was the problem with Sutter and Looch last year. He had a pretty decent start but then after we clinched Sutter was still playing him on a daily basis. By the time the playoffs hit he was toast.

Looch needs to sit out at the very minimum every 3rd game.

If we lose to the Sharks or the Ducks this season we don't deserve to be in the playoffs.

Looks like we are gearing up for a fun little playoff race. A couple of strong teams in the mix.

Gotta like the way the forward lines looked, maybe we stumbled into some good combinations.
A win like this could really get the monkey away from our backs and get the guys playing with more confidence. Something thats been lacking in the last few games.

By far, the best one in this report. Gold.

P.S. Reminds me, sadly, how often I've been repeating the same sequence already this season. Oh, Hockey Gods, how unfair art thou...

"Lucic scored? Now he will never be out of the lineup again!"

When our in game quotes are the same as Oiler fans, maybe that isn't good.

Great game!

Hell of a heavyweight tilt as well, Gilbert is a tough SOB even though he lost that scrap.

Good games from Lindy, Looch, Hubey, Andersson and others. If only the team could build some momentum from this heading into Christmas.

That was mine (in the GT) and you should all know it was tongue in cheek.

There were more than you, IIRC.

Seriously, I think Lucic's game (and I think it was better even without the goal) proves the opposite. He's better with games off.

I agree - I thought he had a strong game all around.

I also agree with the second point - I am in the camp that thinks he should be playing maybe 50 games total, getting regular rest and allowing room to develop young guys

So NYR (2), TOR (2), DAL, MIN, VGS, SEA, CAR and EDM don't deserve to be in the playoffs?

The Oilers certainly don't, but that's not because they lost to the Ducks.
