Solid episode last night, not the greatest, but not bad by any stretch. The final two scenes were awesome, the scene with Phil and the final baptism scene. Still can't believe that just like that, Johnny Sack is gone, pretty sad way to go, I liked his character, he was a ###### bag to the 10th degree but I though Vinny Curatola did a great job and made him a person that you love to hate.

I'm not sure I agree with either of your scenarios.
It looked to me like they were setting up Phil to take out Tony not Christopher (of course it is possible that it could be Christopher he goes after as a retaliation thing).
As for the Christopher/Tony relationship, I think there's a greater chance that Tony gets rid of Christopher than the other way around. I could even see Christopher trying to get out and getting clipped for it.
It definately seems like they're setting up something big, but what it is I have no idea. Should be interesting though.
As usual, I'm reserving judgement untill I see what happens, becasue on that show, they'll do just about anything.

It also seemed like they were setting Tony up for having a heart attack or some thing of that nature.
Meadow breaking up with Fin (sp?) came out of the blue. (Now I have a chance).
Like I figured after last season. It looks like Phil's family is going to do something. He sure seems to be hung up on the death of his brother. Also nothing has been mentioned in the last two episodes about the disapearance of Fat Dom from Phil's family.
So far it seems like Chase is trying to create a few ending scenaio's. One, Tony gets arrested. Two, Tony gets killed. Three, Tony drops dead of a heart attack or related health problem. Which leads me to believe that something else is up his sleeve.

Decent episode, it set up alot of things in the remaining episode. I found myself wondering when it was going to be over, which is a rarity with a Sopranos episode.
Should be interesting to see what happens with Phil, and if he starts a good war to end the show.

I think the whole Tony/Christopher thing will come full circle and they'll save each others asses in an all-out war with New York. It'll solidify the family for good and put the present issues to rest. Just my prediction. Like you guys said, who knows with this show. Anything is possible.

I think Chris is going to get taken out by Phil and die in Tony's arms. Tony is going to step down and Syl will have a heart attack bringing Tony back into the picture.

This episode was great, and had a ton of foreshadowing...
1. Tony v. Christopher... pretty obvious Christopher is going to end up dead. Though I highly doubt it'll be cause of this little tiff. My bet is NY takes Christopher out, causing some unorthodox revenge from Jersey.
2. The New York Boss War... I don't think Phil wants to be boss, his ticker won't take it, Gerry was the frontrunner and was promptly clipped... its between Carmine Jr. and Doc... or could Chase be bracing us for something unexpected... Tony Soprano taking over NY with the series ending up with him on top, knowing that the downfall is still inevitable?
3. AJ and his Puerto Rican Princess won't last the season. She's become bitter, likely at AJ's immaturity and lack of cajones. He is very much the antithesis of his old man, and nothing good will come of this storyline for him.
4. Meadow sans Finn... If any of the Soprano family steps into Tony's world, its Meadow. She's the only one smart enough and savvy enough. My bet is, the final episodes start her on the road to being a mob lawyer and/or advisor.

It doesn't sound like Carmine Jr. wants to be boss. His conversation with Tony sure had Tony thinking.

He doesn't want to be anymore (probably cause Johnny Sack kicked his ass last time), but I think he'll end up taking it reluctantly at Jersey's continued behest... at least for a while.

I don't think Phil goes after Tony. There was an episode last season (season 6, part 1) when Phil rejected a suggestion to whack Tony saying that taking out a boss was wrong. Phil is old school and he respects the "code".
I agree that Christophers days are probably numbered. I think it's a question over who gets him - does Phil take him out or does Tony?

Another intriguing story line is Tony getting grilled by the Fed's over the terrorism aspect.

It is very intriguing. I have a feeling its in there to do one of two things:
1. Lead to Tony's demise
2. Be a red herring and a small plot event

The terrorism thing is interesting. One, agent Harris talked to Christopher. Yet Christopher didn't let Tony know that he had had a conversation with the FBI. I don't think he was too impressed with that news. Two, how does Tony give info to the FBI about the muslims he deals with? Tell the FBI, I know of some muslim guys that we sell credit card numbers to. But if Tony does get arrested, maybe he can get a lighter sentence for giving information that leads to the arrest of some terrorists.

I guess I had a different take on Phil's speech at the end there. I thought when he was going on about 'no more, no more' he was meaning he wasn't going to get push around anymore and had a change of heart about being boss. I have a feeling he's going to get in a battle with Doc rather than Christopher.
Btw, I couldn't quit laughing at the part where Phil was going on about how they changed the name from Leonardo to Leatardo, a ballerina outfit.

As it's always happened, the internal battle in New York for leadership will eliminate all of Tony's possible problems without him stepping in... he'll step back and watch them destroy each other... with a more Jersey friendly boss stepping in in the end...
Can't see Chris touching Tony... don't see Tony clipping Chris either though...
Great episode... and a very awkward hug there in that last scene between Tony and Chris.

Fantastic episode.
Very very dark and foreboding. The tempest is beginning to swirl. The thankless position of boss is getting to Tony.
The biggest shocker that would end off this series would be if Tony would be turn his back on this life and turn into Kevin Finnerty. Clearly he is beginning to understand the poison of the mob that is ruining almost every relationship he has. Does Tony take the high road and report the muslims in the name of his country and enter the witness protection program? That's probably too far out of left field but it makes you think. The life of the mob boss is destroying Tony, and he realizes it.
Also, where's Artie Bucco?
