The only real issue I had with it is that people are making some Edmonton/Calgary lambasting Toronto angle when really some lady moved from Mississauga to Leduc because she's an idiot.
And she couldnt get a job at a Little Caesars.

Why do bankers try to sell you credit cards or try to increase your credit card limit?
It makes me lose trust in who I am working with immediately.
Awful financial advice.
"Hey I see you are taking money out of long term savings to help pay bills, have you thought about increasing your credit card limit, so you can just owe more money?"

Because they’re paid to do it. If it makes you feel better they’re also paid to tell you to use their app to deposit cheques even though it makes their job more obsolete.

We do not just sit back and say "what's better 1 or 2". I have to deal with eye infections, Foreign body removals, bloody eyes. I also use Fluorescent dyes to help me diagnose issues that tends to drip all over. Not to mention the disinfection process that happens after seeing a patient now. That stuff can destroy your nice clothes.

Being dragged out to the significant others work events is painful for me. I hate it, don't enjoy it and I don't really feel like befriending her work people for a few hours. It is even worse that my significant other feels like she has to be the last to leave. Even when she tries to get ready to leave it takes her 45 minutes to get her #### together so that we can go home.
I'm calling it quits after this Christmas. I am no longer going to her work functions because it feels like a huge waste of my time.

What’s wrong with getting to know some new people for a few hours in a celebratory setting?
It’s not as if a party with a bunch of strangers, is any different than these random conversations we all have here on CalgaryPuck.

They expect you to wear pants to the company Christmas party.

My wife and I have an agreement that she doesn’t have to go to my work/friend parties and I don’t have to go to hers. We make exceptions for big milestone events (weddings) but other than that it’s optional.
We’ll drop off and pick up so the other can really enjoy themselves at their event. In between the other gets to enjoy solitude.

We're similar. If the quality of food/drink intrigues me enough I'll come for as little or as long as I feel like. There's been a few times where I've told her I was leaving and she said to wait 10 mins and she'd come too...but it turns into another hour which is a little annoying, but I'm already out of the house and wearing pants so I can suck up that literal champagne problem.

The work things are the only ones I'm willing to do just because maybe some positive interactions with her co-workers/bosses help her down the road career-wise and then I see a net gain as a household.
I always think if 2 people are getting laid off and all things are equal in terms of pay, ability, etc, then likeability comes into play and the person that gets to keep their job is the one that everyone enjoys being around. So if I gotta wear a tie and make some ####ty banter for a couple hours to people I likely won't see again until the next work party, then that's the cost.
Now, hanging out with other parents because our kids picked the same extra-curricular activity, that's a whole different story.

Christmas is great because it's one of the few times where it is so incredibly easy to get out of invites with a simple "I already have other plans" and no one bats an eye.

I am not married but from corporate events, I know how sleezy some of these guys can be, especially with booze involved. Always a good idea to make the odd appearance and let them know your girl is taken, loved and respected. This is important on the power dynamic too.
Sometimes we gotta do stuff that isn't ideal or the most fun but worthwhile for the longer term.
If your wife is actually a smoking hot fox, the above is almost mandatory!
