Glenn Sutter should be launched into the sun immediately.

What a brutal season, Flames have lost that swagger from last year. Entertainment wise probably close to GG years, I believe that Sutter will step down if this continues.

That first loss of the season against the Oilers changed everything. They looked so good to start the season. One loss to the Oilers and Sutter blows up everything and things haven't been the same since. Chemistry is a big thing, if you have it, keep it.

Now he's chasing to get that team that started the season back again. I like Sutter, but this has been a really, really rough year for him.

Don't really care what you all think but we were lights out for the first 7 games then something happened and here we are. He lost the room at about game 10 and it looks like it has grown to him being completely ignored. Bye bye Sutter.

With the way Sutter played Lucic tonight after he wasn't good enough to play the last two games - this is a coach who I believe is lost. I think the Oilers series broke him.

Well this team needs to figure it out because next year isn't likely to be better.

Huberdeau - Lindholm - Toffoli
Dube - Kadri - Mangiapane
Ruzicka - Backlund - Coleman
x - Rooney - x
x - x

Hanifin - Andersson
Weegar - Tanev
Zadorov - Kylington (maybe?)
x

Markstrom
Vladar

18 players signed at 81.7M cap hit.
If the cap only goes up by 1M then there is about 1.8M left to fill out the roster.

Team is weak offensively, defensively and goaltending right now. They are old and locked up long term.
Not sure what you do. Can't really blow it up after the summer trades and signings. Can't trade 1st for big player with uncertainty in where that first is.

Do you try and work through it and hopes it steadies itself? Fire the gm or coach?

Edging into worst case scenario.

I don’t have a problem with Lucic’s minutes tonight. He wasn’t getting heavy shifts until the game was over. This is one of his last NHL games, I am pretty confident he’ll be back in the press box next game.

The first games of the year are a crapshoot anyways. This team just isn't good. If anyone was going to tune Sutter it would of been Gaudreau and Tkachuk and they thrived.

Surely they're just trying to, I dunno, showcase Lucic for a trade or something? Guy belongs in the press box, how is he getting this much ice time

kind of ticked at this crop of players for tuning out Sutter so quickly to be honest

he's won 3* cups for a reason .. I know he said you took a dump to the media and he's not the most charismatic or the brightest ray of sunshine but damn it.. give him a chance!

really looks like they're trying to get him fired at this point

The way they're playing now, I didn't even put the game on until the 2nd period.

I was pumped for the Leafs game last Sat night, but now the Flames are more painful to watch than enjoyable.

Lot of missed passes, and just frustrating to endure.

This is a self inflicted wound. The team is trying hard, but the system doesn't fit the parts and Sutter seems to prefer a line blender vs. system changes.

Then when you pump Lucic out there for 14 minutes regardless of his mistakes at key times because "big" and you get a result like this.

Mackey was overplayed after his two goals which lead to his brutal giveaway on the 5-2 goal.

Sutter is not doing a good job.

He's better than Lucic!

Milan *led all Flames forwards* in shifts in the third period. He led them in shifts! They double-shifted him and sat Ruzicka, one of their most consistent forwards all year. What in the world.

Lucic didn't help matters as far as the Flames but he one of the least of the teams worries. There are alot of other higher paid players who the flames actually rely on for success who are crapping the bed. Though, I admit he is being played way too much.
