Stripling as a #5 at that price is a no brainer. I guess they want some of their failed starters last year to have some chance at redemption. Fair enough.

I've said it before, but I will repeat it.

Ross saved the team's bacon last year. I don't think he will repeat the performance though.

That's kind of like how I feel too. I would have been fine with re-signing him but I wasn't upset when they didn't qualify him for 19 million or whatever it is.

His issue was for resigning was that some of the luck numbers were a bit on the high side. Like I don’t think the difference between what he’s giving now and being mediocre again was that much. You kinda saw this in his starts where he’s look lights out for 3-4 innings then struggle and for 1-2 and let in his runs. Also that’s the other part he just never went very deep into games. Hence why I figure the Jays preferred Bassit despite losing the 2nd round pick and the 500k in international draft money.

Paying him until he’s 41? Wild. Just wild.

13 years. My god. I get stressed out thinking about Springer's final couple years. Correa will be a Giant until 2035!

Feels like NHL contracts from the early 2000s.

In hindsight we should have seen this coming after they lost out on Judge. Bananas.

Jays looking in on Cueto as a fifth starter option. I wouldn’t hate it.

I've always hated Kiermaier. It will be hard to adjust.

Tough to be upset with a one year deal like that. If he sucks he's gone next year. Sounds good to me.

Stripling was a good Jay. Would have been thrilled to have him back even on that deal. Not sure he's a full time starter over a whole season but he's a quality arm and a great guy. Oh well, hope he does well in SF.

Stripling was fantastic, and a savior for them last year. And I love him for it. But I am in the camp that everything went his way last year and he won't repeat that again. Would prefer to look elsewhere.

Like the Kiermaier deal

Get a good left handed bat now. And a flame-throwing reliever

Still think he is their 4th outfielder (same spot as Tapia last season)

Starting pitching likely set, not sure if they will add any more relief pitchers

1 year deal is perfect.

Keirmaier in CF, Springer in RF is hugely improved outfield defense.

I bet they grab a defense first 4th OFer now to use as a defensive replacement late in games for Gurriel who is still a mess out there.

They also still have 3 catchers, and I could see Moreno being used as an OFer from time to time if they keep all three of them.
