Silly bump again ...
Markstrom didn't win them the game and deserves his share of blame, but his goals against versus expected last night was tight.
Calgary didn't finish offensively to match what they created.

Your post provides a clear indication of why this thread was bumped at odds with you calling the bump silly. Can't fault him for the 1st goal but man he made himself small on the 2nd shortly after. Letting in the quick, early goals looked more like the Markstrom that's been an issue this season than the one that finally played to expectations for two games on the last road trip.

I think any goalie that meets his expected didn't exceed expectations and therefore wasn't part of the solution.
Also wasn't part of the problem.
And you're defending that bump? A pin head saying "lmao"
Nice work.

The thread was going to get bumped regardless. It's on you not to let a singular post get under your skin.

I wouldn't worry about it. It's been a difficult season for everyone.

Its because it was a Canucks game. He continues to be the biggest 'CDC paste eating troll' out there!

He’s fine - as a backup.
They need to feed Vladar more starts.

He was above his expected, while the other goalie was below their exoected. Another lost goalie battle for Markstrom.
AT the NHL level there are 25 starters give or take who exceed (in a good way) their expected more than Markstrom.
I'm most disappointed that after one good game from Markstrom Vladar gets shown the bench.

I think these are cycles a goalie goes through in their career. Shesterkin was lost a few weeks ago, seems to be getting back on track now. Binnington is terrible right now, they want to give more starts to Griess. In times of struggle, let the backup play more, it could be a blessing come March and April.

He’s part of the problem for sure. If that game was 2-1 or 2-0 after the first we likely win. Turns out putting your team on the back foot every game is not a good thing. But there are certainly other problems just as pressing.

He kinda is but he plays reasonably well to win against bottom feeders
The team can’t score to save their lives and the defensemen look like idiots lots of time
I would say Sutter is the bigger problem then Huberdeau….

That's the answer after Vladar was torched in his last outing and highly average the game before as well?
As much as some want it to be, goaltending isn't the primary issue with this team.
Maybe the second goal was a bit soft last night, but you can't let a guy waltz in alone like that in the NHL. Either way, Markstrom had his team in the drivers seat after that and once again, they couldn't come through.

Oh yeah I agree Sutter is the number one issue now. Not seeing much buy in or excitement from the team here. They’re playing the system but I don’t get the sense they’re excited about it or are sold on it just kinda doing what’s expected of them in a mediocre kind of way.

1) Vladar is the starter, say what you want, the Flames play better in front of him.
2) Bring up Wolf as back up and play him
3) Get rid of Sutter and his bull####
4) Move Markstrom for decent picks, retain what we have to
5) Attach the Lucic contract to a Hanifin trade, retain what we have to on Lucic, only works when Tanev is ok.
6) Buy out Kylington
7) Buy out Rooney
8) Give Phillips a regular shift
9) Not sure on other Wranglers?
10) Put the $ from Markstrom, Kylington, Rooney and Lucic to work

Rest of the unrealistic nonsense aside, why in the world would you attach Lucic to a Hanifin trade and reduce the value of that trade? That is a terrible idea.
