This is a very subtle concept.

You must keep moving when you play on the same shift with an "elite playmaker" (Huberdeau).

If the puck isn't on your stick ... move your stick. Keep moving it and just moving period. Even a few inches can be enough.

The very definition of an "elite playmaker" is that they can find you. They see and even anticipate where you "should" be next.

With Toffolies' typical "floating" and "waiting" style he's killing Huberdeaus' ability to exploit the "quickness" of the game.

Even micro moves (stick only or a simple repositioning) are often enough.

But the main strategy of those playing with someone of Huberdeaus' ability has to be to constantly exert extra effort to create new passing opportunities for him.

When you see Huberdeau is about to get possession ... "MOVE" and keep moving, twisting pushing ... whatever. He'll find you.

He's not Johnny hockey. You don't watch him till he gets open ... it's your job to get open for him.

So move now. Nothing? Then do it again ... and again. Keep working hard for that 10-20 seconds. Always putting your stick where the defence isn't.

And then just trust that Huberdeau will find your stick sooner or later.

Keep doing the same thing and expecting a different outcome is insane.

Crap goaltending from Markstrom and his admission that he sucks at hockey, but he carries a big contract, he’s older, more NHL experience, so Sutter keeps riding him and he has lost it…they both have.

Lack of skill and speed up and down this lineup, it’s blatantly obvious, but instead of playing your best offensive players more you play the 4th line plugs who aren’t even average AHLers.

The leading goal scorer in the AHL is sitting in the press box after the team managed one goal against Montreal.

Change needs to happen…

That's a quality penalty call by a competent referee.
