All in all I'm surprised at how many times we end up short handed. It didn't seem like a problem last year with largely the same roster. Sutter if you're reading this please try a line of Huberdeau - Dube/Ruzicka - Toffoli.

at home he seems to s**** bricks though .. can he do it at home?

Since basic logic is severely lacking here, let me break it down it real slow for you guys:
On Feb 14th, 2022, Calgary traded Heineman, Tyler Pitlick and a 2022 1st rounder for Toffoli.
On Aug 18th, 2022, Calgary traded Monahan and a 1st rounder for diddly squat.
When you simply add up those 2 transactions you get:
Monahan (this season) + Heineman + Pitlick (last season) + 2 1st rounders for Toffoli (last year + this)
Yes Toffoli's cap hit this year is $2.125M less than Monny's.
All in all it's fantastic business by the Habs who clearly CRUSH these trades from all accounts except for the majority of CP posters it seems.
But then again i wouldn't expect much different from this board who defended the Hamonic trade for years.

Just watched the game. Not much creativity from anyone.
Cycle...cycle...cycle...around boards to point...weak shot that misses net...cycle...cycle...cycle...around boards to point. Weak shot that misses the net...andddd cleared.
Powerplay is painful to watch. Again no creativity, We have a heck of a time getting The puck anywhere near the net. No one wants to stand in front and screen...
Ritchie had a great game but guessing he is a healthy scratch next game.

But that wasn't the trade and cap space isn't Dudley squat.

Yeah. You can't add two unrelated trades together and ignore the third key trade in the equation.

If the Flames won the shootout, this thread would be way more positive. That’s stupid.

KADRI
How hard is that to figure out. The cap space was for Kadri.

The game plan has to be play this boring style on the road.
I mean the forwards are more talented than that. Right?

Those actually were the 2 trades and the cap space is accounted in the $2.125M savings in Toffoli's contract over Monahan.
It's STILL a FLEECING by the Habs, you guys are hilarious.
If the Flames did that to another team all we'd hear about on here is the WIZARDRY.

How hard is it to figure out Kadri wasn't part of no trade with the Habs.
Of course the cap space was to sign Kadri, but the fact it had to be done is due to the cap mismanagement from the so called wizard in the first place.
Kadri wasn't part of the 2 trades with Montreal. Montreal destroyed Tre in those 2 combined trades. Why is that so hard for people to see and admit.

You do know he had another trade worked out that fell apart last minute so he had to pivot to Montreal.
Pitlick really looks good though.

You can't just make up your own rules about evaluating trades and then get mad at everyone else for not having the same criteria

Kadri was willing to sign with them but they needed the cap space...don't be dumb that is why they made the trade. If Kadri hadn't agreed they wouldn't have done it.
Nobody would take Monahan's contract for less obviously...even the Yotes backed out when it looked like Monahan was heading there

How is Kadri not part of the equation? But you get to randomly tie two trades together that are unrelated to each other?
You aren't making any sense.
Should we bundle the Bennett and Tkachuk trade into 1? Or make it a 3 way trade with Montreal?
