There is little doubt that the AB government will try and use the Sovereignty act as a means to supersede Treaty. An ugly possibility.

Based off what, rampant speculation? They've never once hinted anything along those lines.

Speculation yes, but not a leap. the sovereignty act is focused heavily on Oil and Gas, Treaty rights are very relevant with respect to Oil and Gas. The federal government is primarily responsible for meeting treaty rights, the sovereignty act is designed to contradict federal jurisdiction.
I hope you're right, but there is a long history the Alberta government (and all the provinces, but I mostly work with respect to Alberta history) trying to supersede treaty rights with provincial law.

Here's the thing - last time around, Trudeau actually came out and said "unless we win a majority, we might just have to turn around and call another election in 18 months". That was obscene, idiotic, and was rightly condemned by CPC supporters, and others. Instead, the government entered into an agreement with the NDP to ensure that they wouldn't call an election in the near future. That may result in policy decisions that you don't like (and I don't like - the federal NDP are a joke as far as I'm concerned) but it's a legitimate way to operate in a parliamentary democracy.
In Alberta, there has been full-scale regime change. This UCP is not the same as Kenney's UCP. Whether you thought Kenney's UCP was incompetent or maybe you thought the criticisms were exaggerated by his critics, it's clear that Smith's regime operates very differently. When government changes that significantly, it should go to the voters at large, not the party membership, as soon as reasonably possible, to determine if this is the government they want.

They don’t get what they want when there is an election(ie: the extreme are the minority), so they are trying to get their “power” it in a different way.
The extreme left work with the party in power to influence
The extreme right infiltrate and take over
Different ways to try to gain power from the majority

One of the key advisers that helped draft the bill is pro alberta and Quebec separation and anti-indigenous rights. He made headlines last week by threatening a referendum here in Alberta if the constitution isn't changed.

"There is little doubt..."
Wow.
Now that is quite the leap of logic and jumping to of conclusions.
