No annoying toque or headband to carry around.

Headbands are dumb
But who’s carrying around a toque other than on your head..

The days where it's -12 in the morning and +2 in the afternoon. -5 (ish) is my cutoff for having a hood up vs down. What do most people do with a toque when it's too nice for one?

I didn't know what to make of it. He was just walking around like it was a reasonable thing. The maniacs are out and about.

Stick it in my pocket. Seems pretty easy to me. I'm starting to wonder about what kind of giant toques people are wearing.

Remember those giant toques that looked like a wizard’s hat that people wore in the 90s? Maybe it’s that.

Any winter coat is useless unless it has a hood to flip up over your toque. Toques are stylish year around.

The 90s styles are becoming popular again. Only a matter of time before these babies make their triumphant return

No Locke, he meant toques that people wear outside. Not what you wear in the office.

Not saying it’s worth the extra $1000 (my winter jacket is $250 and amazing) but kind of in line with Wormius saying people justify expensive items in all sorts of ways, I also find it funny when people justify cheap purchases in all sorts of ways.
Even a completely uneducated slob who has never worn a shirt in their lives could tell the difference between a $10 t-shirt and a $100 t-shirt, for example.

Perhaps the Canada Goose jacket is more durable.... but I can guarantee you 99% of people buying a Canada Goose jacket, aren't even remotely putting theirs through the abuse I do my winter coats. I chainsaw, split and stack about 10 cords of firewood at my FIL's ranch every winter wearing my 20 year old Stormtech, and it's still in one piece.... I think that's a pretty durable garment beyond reasonable expectations.
Regardless, we all have our priorities. I can't fathom spending more than a couple hundred bucks on a jacket, but won't even blink spending 20 grand supercharging a car or 1200 bucks on a Festool track saw.

Which pocket do you put in though? Jacket pockets look weird and bulgy. Maybe if you put it in a front blue jean pocket the bulge would look good.
Toques are silly. Under jacket hoodie is the way to go

I now have this image of you wearing a Nike (or similar) white headband and looking very much like Richard Simmons.

The thread did inspire me to look into allan edmonds chukka boots and Oxford style boots. Does that count?

This was a thing when I was in elementary. Baseball cap and whatever to keep ears warm. Head band, ear muffs or toque. And then the awesome waist length dinosaur toque. You'd yank that thing off like flag football was going out of style. The 90s are coming back in style, so maybe that's why?
I do admit I prefer the feeling of wearing a baseball cap under my toque. But I would keep a cap in my pocket just to do that.

I feel like a horse with blinders on if I rely on the winter jacket hood. All you can see is forward and if you try and look over your shoulder... You feel like an idiot for not pivoting at the waist like a scarecrow.

I like to keep my toque in a bin in the house because I spent time doing my hair and don't want to mess it up.

Considering the weight of boxed furniture that the things generally carry, ikea shopping carts should not have 4 casters on them. Like Tokyo drifting a semi.
