I'd argue that the NDP should have replaced Notley. I have an extremely difficult time voting for a person that was anti-pipeline and anti-Alberta oil until she got in a position where she had to drop it for optics. She may be a more competent premier but we all know deep down she opposes the industry that puts food on the table for Albertans. It's no different than people that won't vote for Conservative because of their past position on abortion or LGBT issues.
Such utter BS

Notley should be way ahead in the polls but she's not, and that's my concern. You say now is not the time to roll out ideas and yet Smith is doing it now
and for whatever reason is rising in the polls. Think back to the TV spot where Smith outlined how she was going to help Albertans, Notley used her time to offer nothing in return except to attack Smith. I disagree with your stance and say now is the time to fight back and offer alternatives to what Smith is presenting.
I find this rather amusing after just hearing a Notley add on the radio where she offers an alternative to Smith's failures.
Nobody wants a 6 month election campaign.
Frankly I find your attitude entirely predicable, but also depressing. You sit her and criticize Smith, yet at the same time spend many posts shrugging your shoulders saying "well, gee golly, Notley hasn't told me anything so I guess Smith it is." You've got some serious Stockholm syndrome with this lady. It's fairly obvious reading your posts over the years you will eventually vote for her, against your own interests. But you'll do it.

If anything, Notley's attack ads against Moron Kenney is beneficial for this time around as she was 100% right about Kenney. lol

“The Calgary Cancer Centre will be a world-class facility, to match the calibre of the people who deliver cancer care in this province, and the work they do for patients every day. We promised Albertans a stronger publicly funded health system, with better access to care. And we’re delivering on that promise, in cancer care and across the health system.” Jason Copping, Minister of Health
That takes some ####ing chutzpah, considering it was a Conservative government that kicked the can down the road for over a decade before bailing on the Cancer centre completely. The ONLY reason it exists is because we were fortunate enough to have an NDP government to make it happen. Now they take credit? #### right off.

Everyone thinks they want to hear policy/platform, but that's just a bull#### rationalization.
We've lived roughly 4 years under each gov't. If that wasn't enough info to make a decision, it's out there for you to find. But I somehow doubt anybody who hasn't been paying enough attention over the last 8 years to already know their answer is going to be swayed by platform points.

Maybe they can prove that they are serious about cancer care by doing the same in Edmonton. Cross Cancer Centre is badly in need of help too.

LOL. Smith thinks she can reduce the need for cancer care if everyone drinks green tea while in stage one, two and three, and if they get to stage four it's their own damn fault. Best bet is to wait for Premier Notley to announce it next year.

I find it depressing when people make assumptions about me, but hey it's par for the course when it comes to this thread. You assume i'm voting for Smith but you can't be bother to ask. It's clear you'd rather live with your assumptions about me and frankly you disappoint me as I thought you were one of the more reasoned posters on this site.

Well I know what you'd say if I ask, you will say no. What I'm saying is I know what you will do when the time comes, not what you tell us(and even maybe believe yourself right now). That's why I said it's like Stockholm Syndrome. You are already telegraphing your vote, even if you don't see it yourself.

It was all blown off as fear mongering, I worry that would repeat as we have already seen a push for "giving her a chance" when it comes to Danielle.
I seriously hope Albertans are paying attention to who we have in power right now. The UCP has repeatedly shown us who they are and it's time for the people to believe them, but will they? Or will gold fish memories kick in?
How long till the healthcare mismanagement during this Flu/RSV/Covid season wakes people up? Because it won't get better with more UCP.

smith is rising in polls because the vast majority of people lack critical thinking skills and believe conservatives = good for economy and ndp = bad for economy based on...well no good reason
you cant reason a person out of a position they didnt reason themselves into

Did it ever occur to you ask questions as opposed to making assumptions?
So now it's Stockholm Syndrome. If that's what you want to believe then have at it. I'm done here.
Thanks Fuzz, now UCP voters will use the excuse than an NDP voter was mean to them once.
And Dion, I respect you man, but it’s hard to believe you after how hard you went for the UCP and how much you trashed the NDP. Actions speak louder than words either way.

I rarely if ever agree with you because you’re kind of nuts. But ya, this facility would have never been built under any conservative government. The fact that they take any kind of credit for it is outrageous.

That's a feature, not a bug.

The past is not always an indicator of the future.
Guys - Dion is actually considering moving away from his traditional voting base. This is great news, let him have his own journey. At the end of the day change comes in votes, and thats all that matters.
