I think it probably has something to do with Lucic. Maybe he is retiring?

Kylington gone for the year + ltir feels like a possibility

Phillips call up wouldn't have these rumblings before it actually happened, they would've just announced it . plus Darryls disdain for the little man seemed real

minor trade could be it

maybe they make a swing for pizza boy

looch calling it quits after contemplating it a couple seasons ago doesn't seem out of the realm of possibility either .. but I doubt it

If Lucic retires now I would be so annoyed. Could have kept Monahan and the 1st. I doubt that it is it though

It would have been better to be able to just keep those things, but if Lucic retires now nothing but respect to him. It's a hard decision to make, guy has been a total warrior and is great in the dressing room. I also doubt this is it, but it would be a noble decision to make to end it at this time... gives us a great amount of cap space to leverage within this season too.

Given how awful he's been, anything involving a reduced role for Lucic would be good to hear. But his ice time only started to be decreased these past few games so I doubt he's just up and retiring out of the blue. Trade or call up could be possible, get the new person on the road with you.

Won't get my hopes up for anything big.

If, and this is a wild and big if, Lucic was to retire now he'd be quickly given a sort of front office role I'd wager and still be around the team

I think Lucic Lewis and Ritchie are still individually decent enough players but playing all three together (and playing anyone with Rooney) is too much for any of them individually to overcome. Each of them can definitely be a 12th forward but the problem is a whole line of 12th forwards ends up sucking pretty bad.

They're bringing McAmmond, Conroy and Iginla out of retirement, book it.

He did not. I don't ever break trades but I'll be damned if I let someone else take credit for that one! That's my claim to CP fame.

I see no way Lucic retires. He literally said earlier this year he wants to play beyond this season. Perhaps he is unhappy and is more open to moving on so the Flames may be able to dump him somewhere? I don’t see him hanging it up mid year

I bet it's a call-up. Seems like the lowest fidelity news and the most likely based on individual AHL performances.

Stay tuned.
Like others noticed in the PGT Lucic looked miserable while congratulating Vladar, but if anyone else caught him shaking hands with the troops he looked equally miserable doing that. very out of character.

Its official. Lucic hates winning and freedom.

Yeah, I don't see him retiring, but if he knows he's getting reduced time he might be very open to approving a trade to a team with no cap issues, as his salary is not a concern.

Yup and even if it is a move to Arizona or a place like that where he will play and be flipped again to a playoff team I could see it. I still think if he leaves the Flames he will find his way back to Boston especially since their last dance season has been incredible so far

It would be annoying but I would still gladly take the worst player on the team retiring. That said I doubt this news is Lucic related.
