This is honestly probably what it is. I died from mine too.

Probably has a lot to do with Flames fans doing the wave in a one goal game.

I mean stupid #### like that post is exactly the sort of thing I was referencing with baseless speculation. But also, get outta here with that!
I'm sorry if I offended anyone with my posts in here. I don't think I'm a non empathetic dick for wondering where a public figure is with scant information. I truly do wish Kylington the best as a person.

My theory is that OK got in over his head buying an entire dresser and bed combination from IKEA and he is still on page 3 of the instructions. Everyone knows what a serious situation that is so we are allowing him compassionate leave to work through it and decipher the hieroglyphics.

Yeah,. I buy a ticket or tune in to watch a worse team.
I find it strange that so many posters here think they know OK personally or they're friends or something. He literally doesnt know who any of you are and so doesn't care about any of your problems. It's sort of depressing to think that people here personally car about someone who literally doesn't even know they exist.
Somehow there is a moral obligation to care about someone who you don't know simply because you watch them on tv? Sounds delusional.
I'm in this for my entertainment and nothing more.

You think you are the only one wondering about Kylington? Everyone here is curious, but not everyone is demanding to know what's going on.

Without any information to the contrary to rely on it is perfectly reasonable to assume that this is Kylington n treating the flames and flames fans shabbily. If the flames and Kylington feel this conclusion is unfair, then make an announcement.

I didn’t miss MMF as much as I thought I did.

Apparently you think moral obligations only extend to people you know personally.

What I *do* wish is that there were some way of sending a collective "We're all thinking about you and wish you well" kind of message to Ollie...clearly whatever it is he's dealing with it's not trite and is deserving of the support of fans (with the exception of those smartasses who think they're better than everyone else).

Just an honest question..if it was a vaccine injury/reaction for Kylington himself, they would required to report that..right? OR they would put him on IR right away I guess.

I don't care about everyone equally. I care less about people I don't know. This is human nature. People here seem to be fantasizing some imaginary relationship they as a fan have with the players and OK specifically.
I don't care about Oliver's personal life any more than he cares about mine. We're both fine with that arrangement.
I do care that he's impacting my entertainment and the team's cap.

It's not about caring with him as an individual that we think we have some connection with. It's about knowing that if a human being is going through whatever it is he is going through, that is more important than some silly game where a bunch of dudes skate around chasing a puck.
Basic human stuff.

Jesus that's cold. You don't have to know someone to want them to get better, or to view them as person not a product.

It’s been said that it’s tough to view people as a person if you don’t appear to be one yourself

I mean hey I do get what you're saying, this is a super weird situation and one I have never seen before where a team won't put a guy on IR for whatever reason.
But at the same time it's not like public pressure in this instance can help or will change things, obviously, and the classier thing to do is just to respect the organization's wishes.
Everyone knows I'm the first to criticize but really this is clearly something that is serious enough to keep a multi million dollar asset out of the line up, a key player no less, eat the cost and work with him due to whatever is deemed necessary. I think that as fans that should be good enough and while I understand that's frustrating because you love the Flames and want to see them do well, these are humans after all at the end of the day, and they're just playing a game- even if you don't know them.
And the human thing to do is just put yourself in his or the Flames shoes, what would you do knowing there was something super serious going on?
