A game against the Wild on a snowy Tuesday night is guaranteed to be a no-event snoozer. Unfortunately, the Flames screwed up as usual. They played on a slushy Wednesday night instead, blowing any chance of getting the 2-1 win they so desperately needed. This whole team is a total failure at playing Sutter hockey.
On top of which, I was out driving in that slush, and only got home in time to turn on the TV for the last 40 seconds. I had to listen to Derek Wills call the game, which is a fate worse than, uh, some other fates.

Flames are complete garbage so far. 2 zip and zero shots on goal for Calgary and they have barely touched the puck.
Mailing it in so far.

Ive had it with Sutter and his deployment. Hes an old man yelling at clouds right now.

I thought to myself before this homestand, if they go 4-1 I’ll stop hoping for Bedard for a while.
And they did. Some of the wins weren’t the prettiest but they battled through and got it done. On a positive note the PP looks deadly again, Vladar is stopping basically all that he can and then some, the Wranglers are cruising, and the Ruzicka line continues to do a lot of damage. On the bad side, the 4th line is a self inflicted wound most nights, Huberdeau still can’t get anything going at evens, and Kylington remains away (i miss him so much).
This team even when playing bad is still managing to win games and maintain positive differentials everywhere. There is another level from this group, of that I’m sure. I certainly hope they find it soon and put a little bit of a hold on a playoff spot.
