I am pretty much over my COVID symptoms now. Just a nagging cough now. I had a headache and fever for a few days and felt run down for like a week. Not the sickest I have ever been (that would go the the Norwalk virus), but definitely felt it. I assume being vaxed helped with the relatively minor effects.
The weird thing though is that it has been 2 weeks since I tested positive and I am still testing positive. I called the BC health 24 line to speak to a nurse and she said that it isn't completely unheard of and when the virus lingers like that, it usually isn't contagious anymore. I wish it would just go away for peace of mind though.

HFM update:
Daughter did develop some sores in/on her mouth, was very distressed but we were able to keep her fluid intake okay. Blessedly she seems to have kicked those within two days, and now seems almost like herself. Her skin blisters look terrible and are just starting to scab over or burst. Poor girl is handling it very well though and Dr thinks she’s recovering well. Praying she does alright while I’m at work today and another good night of sleep helps calm her blisters down.
Baby Advil was necessary otherwise I don’t think there would have been a hope in getting her to drink the over the weekend.

My house is a war zone at the moment. My kids have gone from covid a few weeks ago to some other weird virus strain that causes extreme fatigue, 3AM vomiting and a cough that will NOT go away.
Living in Fernie we ducked into Whitefish and loaded up on cold and flu meds which are a god send. Some Dimetapp, gravol and tylenol buys about 6 hours of health before the next wave of armageddon hits them.
I've had covid 3 or 4 times now the last few years and all I get is a headache and sore kidneys for a day, so I've been able to dodge most of the sicknesses permeating through town and school. Seems like half the kids in town are KO'd at the moment though. I've never seen it this bad.

My 10yo went through this over the last week and change. Fever lasts for about 7 days, incredibly nasty sore throat, that cough, vomiting, and a fever that was hitting 103 consistently. We did take her to our doctor last week when the fever kept going, and he said he has been seeing lots of this one and the fever would stay around for that week or so. Sure enough by Friday it finally broke (right at 7 days) and she was herself again, the odd cough lingers but that is it. Tested Covid negative the entire time.

Keep an eye on it and stay well rested.
My covid (about a month ago) was extremely mild.... but a couple weeks after I was 'recovered' I felt like I was legit dying. Fever, extreme fatigue, zero appetite... it was the worst.
Went to my doctor, who sent me for blood work and Covid has ####ed up my liver. My liver is inflamed and we're now monitoring it to see whats happened. Apparently covid (and cold/flue meds during covid) can wreak havoc on your liver, so here I am.

Sorry to read that, but good that you got it identified quickly.
People treating covid as 'just a flu' seem to frequently only be aware of the most flu-like symptoms when the big risks of covid are all of the impacts on the vascular system, neurological system, internal organs and immune system.
I hope you don't end up with other long-term impacts, and this is a good reminder for others to take care of their health and protect themselves.
Research also suggests that being fully vaccinated may only reduce the probability of long-term health consequences by 15%, and repeat infections make the chances of long-term problems worse, so take care going forward if you now know you're susceptible

Not to sound all homeopathic, but I take an OTC NAC supplement which is supposed to help liver issues. A friend of mine is a nurse and said they use it in the hospital, so it might be something you look into with your doctor.

I ended up having some weird muscular pain (especially in my knees/quads) after getting Covid. Felt like it was related to my nerves because it was more than just a muscle soreness (like after you work out) -- the pain was deeper and more intense. I initially thought it was just me getting old but I believe it was related to Covid as it basically disappeared after a couple of months...

The tests also can't tell the difference between live virus and random left over fragments.

Could well have been covid-related. Nerve pain seems to be fairly common for people who experience longer-term issues from covid. Many people share this experience. I got nerve pain issues following my first shot with the vaccine and still have them around 20 months later along with other long-term issues from first getting covid in November of last year, and then more resulting from getting omicron this past August.

Not really true for rapid tests. Rapid tests show positive for nucleocapsid which degrades pretty fast, so it's a reasonable indicator of live virus shedding (though likely not perfect either). You're likely referring to PCR which looks at RNA copies but cannot differentiate from fragments which may remain for some time. In my experience with many staff, I've seen staff remain positive of RAT for minimum 6, but as long as 13 days. My policy has been for employees to stay home until RAT negative

I'm sorry to hear that. It definitely was a weird feeling for me, and we've been pretty fortunate not to have any major issues since (Covid related or otherwise).

We have now had three in a row in our house since around Halloween- it has been absolutely unreal. They have all been fairly similar with all the flu type symptoms, although I think the second illness was probably some sort of stomach bug. The first illness was a never ending fever and cough, and the most recent one includes red eyes and crustiness around the eyes in the morning (for the kids anyway). I have no clue otherwise what each of them have specifically been- covid tests have all been negative for whatever that is worth.

red eyes that are crusty in the morning sounds like adenovirus

Could also be bacterial if there is a phlegmy URT infection.

Today is the first day since October 31 that I haven't had a sore throat. I never thought this day would come.

Seems like I'm finally headed in the right direction. My wife, however, isn't so lucky. The pressure in her sinuses got so bad that her eardrum ruptured the other night in the middle of the night. Her cough just won't go away and is probably the worst cough I've ever heard. She's in rough shape.

Remember to advocate for yourself and the ones you love if something is out of the ordinary. Sad story below. Parents intuition was correct despite being told otherwise and unfortunately it was too late before someone really took the time to pay attention. Health care going downhill and even moreso when they system is under the pressure it is now. How they could say it's just the flu when she was clearly displaying symptoms not associated with the Flu. Overconfidence, incompetency or both.
