Friend?

You're quoting total ice time not five on five.

But you are still correct that I was wrong, not sure what I was looking at.

Lewis 9:10
Rooney 8:25

You're just wrong too ... right buddy?

Completely comparable.

On one side you have a mocking long text that misrepresents what someone said.

On the other a direct quote of what was said, and a replay suggesting their exact quote may not be correct.

Ruzicka has 13 points in 14 games, which mean he is tied with Huberdeau in 7 less games. Who can say that they saw this happening before the season? Well, I did... but it is too early to tell if he can keep it going

Did Sutter predict that Ruzicka will be this effective? Of course, not, as he did not even play him at the start, which begs the question - who else from the farm could be this effective

Isn't it possible that the way they handled Ruzicka off the hop plays a role in how well he's playing now?

You thought Ruzicka was going to be better than Huberdeau? Hope you have that in writing!

Should Sutter not be given credit for Ruzicka's development?

That's why I asked if I was missing something. That's still not close to the 7 minutes you said. That's about 4-5 extra shifts they got which isn't insignificant with how poor they have been.

The Ruzicka story is a great one, I hope it continues.

But today I've seen a few comments like best forward on the team ... think this is setting up for a fall.

Top Five Most Fortunate Flames Players (GF60-xGF60)

1. Stone +2.03 (that is huge)
2. Ruzicka +0.78

Zadorov, Ritchie and Backlund lower diffs, but fortunate.

I don't think Ruzicka is a 75-85 point player. He could be, but to assume that based on his everything goes in start would likely result in disappointment.

Yeah and I said I was wrong.

He does play the fourth line too much. He also plays Backlund a lot which is understandable which means no where near enough ice time to the top six.

I think over playing stars is a silly mistake too (Edmonton), but Sutter is on the other extreme and I think it's hurting the goal production for sure.

Ah no sorry, I see that I did not word that post properly. I meant I saw Ruzicka was going to be a good player and posted some analysis in the summer, and that I think that he might be a good top 9 option, but I am not sure how to find it on this forum, it seems to only show the last 100 posts...

I do think Flames handled Ruzicka quite well, they told him to get bigger in the summer and it helped him. He was slower earlier in the season, still getting used to his new weight and muscle, but he seems to have made the adjustments now

Ruzicka is basically found money at this point, which is nice to see as others in the top 6 continue to acclimatize.

Just watch his goals this year, the patience and skill he shows with the puck is miles above our other 4th line centers whose ideology is to get rid of the puck as soon as possible. He's got an amazing shot and good hands and he has the size to get space in front of the net

For example take a look at his goals from last season (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cp-V...=RingOfFireCGY). His 2nd goal (and 5th but less impressive) is not an easy one to make, a lot of people struggle with one timer on your natural wing side (leftie on a left wing) even at NHL level and he put a good amount of force into that shot, basically shows me that he is a threat to score on either wing and not a lot of players on the flames can make this shot, very underrated goal. His 3rd goal is even more impressive to me, he shows amazing patience with the puck up close and changes the angle that lets him score, most rookies and 4th line players would try to shoot the puck as soon as possible but he shows confidence in his skills and it pays off. His 4th goal shows his ability to create separation by utilizing his size + reach and skating. I also remember he had some great assists too but I do not wanna go digging for them.

Overall I think his goals shows such diversity in how he scores that it makes me excited for him to get a good opportunity and play with more skilled players.

I didn't see last night's game but one of the things about Ruzicka that stands out to me is how calm and cool he is. In particular, his reaction after he scores a goal is like...

One thing that stood out last night? The scoreboard at the Saddledome.

It should always look that way. The “90s” aesthetic is just an overall improvement.

Keep it that way.

Darryl has been a fan of Rosie from day one...a huge fan

He has pushed him hard because he needed a kick in the ass...seems like its working. Also you can't ignore how much his size helps him at this level.

Something I noticed about Kadri since day 1 is that he gets mugged nearly every shift. He takes a ton of abuse, and almost never gets a call.

Huberdeau is starting to irritate me in how he plays in the defensive zone. Something I've noticed every game is that he hesitates about just going below the hash marks if the puck is there. He instead starts to take off and expect a pass. No other forward on the Flames does this. I haven't really seen a Flame play like this since the days of Iginla. What are you doing man. just backcheck the way you're supposed to.

He made a comment the defensive zone has been a bigger adjustment for him going from zone coverage to man to man. He might still be struggling with that but if it was that big of an issue I think the coach would have sat him by now.

I love how cool and calm he is and he just gets on with it.
