Having a disappointing season, with a Sutter behind the bench, distracting visual fx overlaid on the game broadcast, and pedestal jerseys... yep, feels like the nineties.

Except it wasn’t. I rewound it and put it in slow motion and Jensen actually punched his teammate in the face (I was able to pause on the exact moment of contact before his head snapped back) while trying to hit Dube, whose stick was on the ice. Total garbage call, no excuse for the ref, not on Dube in any way.

It was a high danger shot on a PP. Nobody would of said anything. Sometimes it seems like people enjoy being obtuse just for the sake of it.

Is this normal for SN? The feed goes to another game or goes back in time? I'm on the CBC feed and it's pure garbage. Mind you the internet alternates are no different.

Yes he has. How many times have people on here mentioned how big he is and why is he going down when shots beat him high?

Listen, I think it was a great shot and I don't think it was a terrible goal, just find it funny how different the reaction is in here when the name on the back of the goalie is different.

Anyhoo.......not a bad period. Backlund looks great.m

I saw it...the guy is low and runs right into him. Personally I don't think that was the second infraction of the period. They had been letting it go.

Nah I don’t think he would have. Most goalies wouldn’t have saved that.

On a positive note. I really feel like we have a great player in Ruzicka. I think he has a higher ceiling then we may think.

That is simply not true, at all.

Markstrom is a really good guy, I hope he turns it around for himself (and of course for the Flames).

Fair enough, I rewound it as well. Looked like a hit to the face. Agree to disagree. Flames are not playing bad. I hope we can pot some. A win can be had here.

I don't think either goalie would have saved that Sheary shot. However, if it was Markstrom in net, it would have been 1-0 at 1:13 into the game on the first shot.

However, great to see Marky helping Vladar on the bench and having a good time with it all. Let's hope he can step up and earn that 6 million.

I don't think Huberdeau's been invisible - Toffoli got a post off a very nice pass. Huberdeau puts the puck in good places, but there's no chemistry yet. He punched one straight to Ovi too which is probably not a good idea.

I'm going to try to be positive the rest of the game and enjoy it, so I will try to refrain from posting about it the rest of the game, but the one big negative for me that period is I counted at least 3 offensive draws for the 4th line.

I don't care if they've been out for 10 seconds or 30 seconds, get them off the ice. Let them take neutral zone draws. And no, I don't care about line matching in that regard, get your best offensive lines out for offensive zone draws.

He took flak in the last game thread for the first goal, which was totally his fault and incredibly stupid.

The only comments I saw about the second goal were those calling it a snipe. A few people said it was his fault for causing the scrum that lead to a Flames penalty, but nobody called that a weak goal.

I think if Markstrom made 14 saves on 15 shots in a period folks would give him his due. Either way, Vladar made about 3 or 4 great saves that period and goals by both teams were quite similar. Perfect shots on both goals.

I'm still not impressed by Huby at all. He hasn't been horroble this game but until he can show to be a line driving winger, he is a disappointment. Especially when one had an expectation that he was to be a elite difference maker. It's 20 plus games in, no more excuses.
