you could see that goal evolving in slow motion, with Dumfries float into a dead space, waving his hand at Blind, who just dropped a dime cross.

the elite teams just work to find these little gaps in the coverage and have the quality of delivery to get them there.

Canada can learn a lot by watch what these guys do...the game slows down for the great players/teams it feels like

Wow sounds like gabriel Jesus may have a fairly bad injury as he has been ruled out for the tournament? Terrible news for Arsenal if so. they will probably need to buy a striker in the winter window to keep up the charge if it is more than a couple week thing unless they are ready to hang their title charge on an erratic striker like nketiah

Was really impressed with the us midfield this tournament adams McKennie and Moussa is a really good unit.

They are like a reverse version of canada... no dynamic wingers or strikers but a really solid spine. The North American all star team would be a good one ha

I was pleased the US made it out of the group as Concacaf needs consistent teams at that level to raise the play of the entire federation

But the Dutch manhandled them today really. The US had the ball a lot but didn’t put the Dutch under real pressure.

The trickle down effect of the ranking points will help the confed. Was especially happy to see the ticos get some points as I think canada can take some of those from them at the next gold cup and try to get out of the lower pots next WC.

US needs to find a striker. Not sure why they didn’t bring Pefok as he’s actually scored some goals this year in the Bundesliga but Ferreira doesn’t look to be the answer as much as they keep trying it

Bad news for Pele. Bad news for the World.

Quote:
The 82-year-old was admitted to hospital in Sao Paulo on Tuesday, saying it was a routine monthly visit.

However a report in Brazil, which has not been confirmed by the BBC, says he is now beginning end-of-life care after not responding to chemotherapy.

BBC says they havent confirmed it but many other outlets are reporting it as confirmed.

However you want to define the Greatest Of All Time, whether he's your pick or not, out of all of the options he is always certainly the classiest.

The man is an icon.

And he may well. Thats his talent. He makes something out of nothing, but Argentina havent been great...I think this might be there for the taking.

Or it'll be a slaughter. I mean, Argentina should have slaughtered Saudi Arabia and we all saw how that went.

"Hard work beats talent when talent doesnt work hard."

And Messi doesnt work hard, thats not his game. He uses his exceptional vision of the game and unreal talent to turn games in moments.

But he's used to being surrounded by players working hard to win the ball back, move things around, etc. and thats not really Argentina's game.

The smart money is on Argentina killing the Aussies though. Just too much of a gap.

This is rough. Arsenal need a striker if Jesus is out for any length of time. Jonathan David, come on down

Where’s the dislike button when we need it?

Arsenal can return to where they belong. Maybe mid table, battling for a Europa Conference League berth.

Seriously though, Jesus hasn’t actually done much for a while now. Brazilian fans were lambasting him for his lack of attack there and he hasn’t scored in the PL for a number of games.

I dont know anything about Australia's #22 Jackson Irvine, but that moustache tells me that he's murdered a few people, I dont know how many, but he's not, not murdered a few folks.

Oh man, I didnt realize how many Aussies are on yellows. Those disappear after this round right?

They could be in real trouble even if they manage to beat Argentina.

Australia, if I could you one piece of advice, it would be to target Otamendi's side and run at him.

If you force him to make quick decisions you will find some joy.

I'm just saying....the Qatari Police should be paying extra attention to the dumpsters around the Australian hotel.

And as I say that my old point comes back. Irvine booked. Misses the next match.

Another rule that I hate. They should wipe out yellows after the Group Stage.

Australia look good so far. They have the height and size advantage so keep pumping in long balls.
