Are the referees overworked in the tournament? I swear I see that Asian lady holding up the change board everyday!!

Uruguay needs to win by 2 more goals than Korea wins by. That VAR decision against Uruguay in the previous game is going to knock them out.

Ghana almost looked like they were killing time to keep it 2-0 there. I guess they were happy knocking Uruguay out?
It seemed a little unfair they had about 7 minutes after the Korea game ended knowing what they needed to do. They should probably sync the start of second halves now that they are adding so much stoppage time.
Another crazy day though!

Absolutely crazy World Cup. Hopefully more upsets in the round of 16. With Germany out, all I want is the most chaos.

It's always great to see the smaller countries causing some drama in this tournament. Too bad Canada couldn't add to the excitement as well.

I find that we tend to see chaos at this stage but as the tournament progresses, the top tier teams start to shine.
When was the last time an actual minnow, or even not top tier team, made it past the QF? 2002 Korea? And they only made it that far due to widespread corruption and match fixing from the officials.

And honestly, I think that's fine. We all want to see some minnows surprising to add some spice to the tournament, but at the end of the day most of us want to see two powerhouses facing each other in the finals.

Uruguay deserved to go out sitting on that 2-0 lead until the South Korea winner dictated otherwise

Japan and Korea can meet each other in the QF.
They have not played each other in the World Cup or qualifying since 1997.

Mexico and Uruguay should be comfortably in round 2 but their cowardly tactics cost them.

Let's go Cameroon and Switzerland. Get Brazil into the side with France & England
EDIT: And Spain!

That will work for me. If Brazil somehow ended up second in their group they can go destroy Portugal.

Well.. Ghana is still bitter about not making it out of the quarter-finals in 2010 as we saw today.
What do we consider a minnow - Turkey was in the semi's in 2002 as well - besides that they've have only qualified for the World Cup at all in 1954.
