I think that Carson Jerema article should just be posted on repeat, every second or third page. Even in the hockey forum. Flames suck today? Did you know Carson says it may be constitutional ....

Which is kind of the point. Cumulatively, this is getting Trump level. Hold your horses Yoho - it's not the Trump get elected level. It's for f-sake, can't they just shut up, not be a-holes and cut the frigging drama for once?

The UCP is stuck in the can't see the forest for the trees. Trudeau! Notley! Singh! Alliance! Boogeyman! Federal government! Scary stuff! Alberta! Alberta! Bad Trudeau!...

...on every frigging thing, little to small to big to massive. It sounds constantly like 3 year olds running the province for the past 3 years, throwing tantrums non-stop. Wah Notley wah Trudeau wah wah wah wah...

Can they just stuff it, shut up and govern like reasonable responsible adults? No. And on top of that, they'll get someone like David Staples to write a nonsensical article on why and how I'm wrong, with someone like Yoho posting the same "Carson somebody or other says it maybe constitutional dad!", over and over again and again....

Reads like Smith and her supporters are getting desperate and feeling nervous about the terrible reaction both throughout Alberta and nationwide to the moronic Alberta Sovereignty Act.

Must be tough to be a supporter right now. They’re looking like embarrassing losers.

Uh-oh. You may be enjoying the attention a little too much, Yoho. Careful with the buzzwords...you gotta keep 'em on the razor's edge to get a reaction from your trolling. Go too far and you'll lose them. "3D chess" is over the top...reign it in a bit if you intend to keep the schtick going.

RE: misinformation tweet that I'm not quoting

Obviously we all know Danielle Smith is a total POS with the IQ of a fresh turd but that whole tweet is just an amazing example of how dumb she and her followers are.

So they take a picture of Notley overlaid with text to make it appear as if it is a direct quote from her. But it's actually a quote about her. And it isn't even factual, it just says she believes it. Put Notley and Trudeau's names in big bold red letters to get the UCP supporters really worked up. Then they don't even property attribute to whom the quote belongs, they just slap if big ####ing CBC logo on the picture.

It's like they just took all the things that make snowflake conservatives squirm and put them in one picture and Smith being the idiot that she is tweeted it out.

No, but as a reason to not vote NDP last time I certainly felt it reasonable and stand by it. I was hoping we would have had a viable third party coming out of the last election.

I do agree that the same people who thanked that post should be disqualifying this version of the UCP on similar grounds.
We don't need to relitigate that program, but it wasn't necessarily as dumb as it seems at surface level. A simple reimbursement scheme would have been ripe for abuse and still required a lot of administration. Making it a tax credit might have simplified it a bit, but would have reduced uptake.

This way the province had better buying power than average consumers buying retail. There is no great way to do staffing, though it's too bad they couldn't figure it out better. The best alternative may have been shipping the items direct to homes without charge, but that opens a whole kettle of fish for many citizens - because let's be real, most people capable of doing it themselves had already converted most of their lightbulbs/thermostat.

They could have shipped every resident some coupon amount that could be used at hardware stores to cover a certain number of bulbs, power strips, and whatever. Would have been way cheaper.

Is she projecting? isnt that what the sovereignty act is? If Danielle doesnt get her way, she can change it?

Sure, and very few of the laggards would have followed through. I guess it would be nice for the rest of us to have a cupboard full of replacement bulbs, but that wasn't really the point...

Consider the elderly...they were probably the largest demographic still using old-school inefficient practices. Maybe the general existence of the program would have been enough of a nudge to get adult children to help retrofit their parents' places, but I'm certainly glad they saved me the trouble.

Again, I'm not saying the program was a homerun, but mailing out coupons is too simplistic and misses the mark.
