I’m not sure why Hrudy is dunking on him here. He makes a full extension toe save off a tip and his team allows a Dman to walk in uncontested to clean up the rebound.
But yeah his contract is insane.

Tkachuk never wanted to be here from the start. Held the Flames hostage after his EL deal to force the Flames into a decision this last offseason, effectively becoming a FA a year early.
His PR handled it much better than Gaudreau, he knew long ago he had no desire on staying here.
Guadreau had lots of conflicting thoughts because he did like it in the city. Tkachuk had no conflict in getting out as soon as he could.
To each their own but if you care about what players think of the city and team, Gaudreau cared a lot more about his legacy here with the team and city then Tkachuk did.

Based on the 3 seasons leading up to the signing, he was one of the best goalies in the NHL at the time.
The Flames just gave north of 10M/year to someone based on his recent years...

Toronto sure likes to stick their nose in on Flames games and usually to the Flames detriment. Seriously, does any other team get more goals reviewed from Toronto? They were responsible for the #### show Coleman called back goal in the playoffs.
