Compared to any other player who doesn't pass to open teammates.
There is a big difference between moving the puck effectively and dumping it in the corner, not sure what that is about.
Bennett was bad in Calgary and needed a change in scenery. Again not sure how he's relevant to a discussion about Kadri.

Same situation with Bennett and the criticism he faced. Dude was trying to make plays while he was on the ice playing with anchors for line mates.
Huberdeau, Kadri, Lindholm, Toffoli are the only top-6 forwards this team has. Mangiapane's cliff dive has left this team in a really bad spot, as has Dube's failure to develop into anything more than a 4th line forward. I just don't think Kadri's play is something we should be targeting. Plenty is wrong with team without focusing in on our 2nd line centre who is producing like a 2nd line centre should be.

Seems like they are trying to have 3 balanced lines and have watered things down so much that almost anything would be better.
Might as well stick your best players together and see if we can at least develop one line that can put the puck in the net.
Huberdeau Kadri Lindholm

Why can’t the Flames do that with someone else? Tkachuk is skilled, but it’s not like he’s some kind of PP genius. Who’s coaching the PP? They flat out abandon a proven strategic option because one guy leaves? And Florida just picks it up?
Gotta wonder - do they even coach / practice the PP?
Meh, guess you have to gain the zone

Panthers Powerplay 19%
Flames Powerplay 19%
tied in the bottom third of the league

I thought the point was how much better the Panthers' power play is with Tkachuk doing amazing Tkachuk things, and how much worse the Flames' power play is without him.
In which case, dino7c's point is obviously out to lunch. Because 19% is sooooo much better than 19%.

Lol just pointing it out...you certainly sounded like the Panthers were the model to follow...Their PP is just as good/bad just like their record.
Flames miss Gaudreau on the PP far more than Tkachuk
I highly doubt you realized they had equal PP stats before your post.

I think that’s likely part of why they keep trying Lucic on the power play since he could sit in front of the net and do that. But his hands are really not good enough at this point in his career to pull it off.

I am fully aware of how disappointing both teams have been. Unsurprising on the Florida side as I think the Tkachuk trade made them worse on the whole
Still, back to the point, that play works on the PP. I still don’t understand why the Flames don’t try to use it.
Like I said, you do you

Well, as a Flames fan…that’s a depressing thought.

And I agree. But in the end it doesn’t matter about any player or ex players stats, it’s about winning. Of course we can get into more individual points lead to winning but the main goal is team play and team chemistry also wins cups.

Probably less depressing than as a Florida fan with their "culture of winning".

My theory is Huberdeau and anyone brought in were bound to have less points based on the Flames defence first system. I'm glad Johnny and Keith Jr were shipped out. I also wish Brad shipped Huberdeau out for a kings random of young talent but that's just me.

Tkachuk got two points but blew it in the final seconds being selfish and also falling down in OT (that's why Sutter didn't start you)...lost both Oiler games this season
