The "Lost Post" Glitch (something about the forums is broken)
Sometimes the 20th or 21st post of a page never shows. Instead, the other post will show up as both the 20th post and the 21st post. What's more, even if you use the direct link to show the 20th (or 21st) post, it just shows the other post.
Funny thing is, sometimes this happens, sometimes it doesn't. There doesn't seem to be any particular thing that causes it to happen.
It's a problem I've noticed for years but figured it would be fixed at some point.
The forum software isn't under active development so if there's a bug then it's probably not going to be fixed.
There is a forum software feature to put someone on global ignore.. they can post, they see their posts, but no one else does. And I think that if there is a bug it could be related to that.
If you change your config to increase the # of posts per page (say from 20 to 30) does it change anything (other than which posts behave weird)?

Changing it to 30 posts per page fixed it for me. However, presumably most people still use the default 20 posts per page setting and as a result some posts may go unseen by a lot of readers.

Do you have an example of one we could check? Is it possible this is just a "you" issue, because I've never noticed anything like it.
I don't see anyone on global ignore posting in the thread either, so that's not what's causing the issue here. Just weird, if it was a bug in the thread display code then one would think it would impact all threads, not just some.

Post #20 will be either my post or Erick Estrada's. Post #21 will be the same as post #20.
Interesting, ya, I get double EE posts and don't see yours. I tried it not logged in in MS Edge, and it was the same. Interestingly if I change the default to 10, I don't see it either, if I change to 30 I do.
