It was a video purported to be an SU-34 downed by a German IRIS-T near Bakhmut today, sounds like it was actually an unseen video from earlier in the war showing an SU-34 downed over Kherson.
It's kind of infuriating to listen to that call and hear the soldier is convinced that if Ukraine pushes Russia out, they will start attacking Moscow (900 km away) and Yekaterinburg (in central Asia). How brainwashed these people must be to actually believe that.

I'm really hoping the world goes after some harsh war crimes trials after this war. The stories of mass rape and killings of civilians amongst other horrid stories is appalling.

Russia will never turn anyone over to be prosecuted. The best you could hope for is that people are indicted and then have the nerve to travel outside of Russia where they could be arrested.

Yup, I know a few blue collar Russians here in Calgary and I can say that for sure, Russians are just different. Might be a generational thing?...great people, honest, hard working but always have something to say about something, they all seem to have a chip on their shoulder (various sizes), argumentative, stubborn, a little rude, hard to get to know, regional bias from back home even here in Canada. Just my take.

I come from a Russian background, was born in Moscow and largely grew up among other Russians. With that in mind, I can say you are absolutely correct. Russians, are generally speaking, psychologically scarred. There are obviously exceptions but when I travel, Russians are my least favorite group to encounter.

I generally like Caspian Report, but that video doesn't really lay out an argument that the geography of Russia determines the nature of the state. It's weird that he even draws that conclusion, because it doesn't derive from the information he provides throughout the video.
