A clapper in the shootout Matthew? You should feel shame.
Got the two points, that’s all that matters. See you on the 29th Chucky.

I am so glad Tkachuk didn't do anything douchy and I am even more glad that Tkachuk lost.

just the massive dive...Flames did a good job of not letting it get stupid.
Gilbert put Lomberg in his place too

he literally stopped 3-5 for sure goals after that, a good goalie can make a mistake and then come back like it didn't even happen.
He gave them a chance to win and that is his job in fact he's been doing that a lot lately.
I actually think after the tough series loss, it would be cool to let him have a full season and playoffs to try and avenge that loss because it will be so much sweeter if he does win, what a story that would be!!

Thought Marky was outstanding in the first period -- he made a couple of pure reaction bing-bang saves. Without those the game is quite different.
Enterntaining, enjoyable, frustrating and nerve-wracking. On the other hand...a W is a W and we need the two points. Not giving away anything with a point to Fla and great to see all the ex-Flame action.
Build off it and move on. Good feeling even if the coach didn't smile.

Absolutely.
Yes, he gave them a freebee and some momentum, but the bottom line is that he won the goaltending battle. And as a result, two points.
Ruzicka is a different player but there - using his body, making plays, and lighting the lamp. Great to see. Lindholm was good too, and has been for several games now.
Also, nice to see the top 9 playing together.

Someone didn’t tell him how close White was to him. It’s not like he fanned on it, he certainly looked like he took the time he did because he didn’t hear someone tell him there was someone on him.

Zary is my favorite prospect, he’s gonna be a top 9 forward in the NHL and should even push to be a top 6 IMO.

I agree with you on Phillips. I haven't seen Zary to determine anything for myself but it sounds like he's made some steps forward this year. I'm still happy to let him do the entire year in the NHL. I would still like to see Phillips get a shot at some point this year but at this point I don't know if the appropriate spot is open for him.

Markstrom made some big saves in the shootout but he needs to be better still.
Flames goalies are killing them when the game is close and with the lead.
When the Game is within 1 goal (lead, tied or losing):
32. Calgary .866 save percentage
31. Buffalo .884 save percentage
That’s a substantial difference between last and second worst.
Same thing with when the Flames are up one:
32. Chicago .812 save percentage
31. Anaheim .823 save percentage
30. Calgary .833 save percentage
Honestly it’s remarkable the Flames are 8-7-2 based on these numbers

Still can't really tell if this team is elite, good, or mid. Very odd. Technically above .500 with our starter holding a .887 save percentage and our star forward middle of the pack in points. You can spin that glass half full or glass half empty
Seems to be the case with several teams around the league like St Louis, Buffalo with very bipolar stretches. You think a team is on a run and blink and suddenly they're lost 7 in a row
