Did you know Brian Jean's indigenous family in their indigenous communities playing indigenous volleyball?

AHS board was fired today, replaced with John Cowell as Official Administrator (same guy who replaced the board in 2013 when the PCs fired the board).
https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/edmon...ping-1.6655400
The press conference said it was to ensure that AHS could respond quickly and effectively to direction from the government. lol

Ugh, we lost our opportunity yesterday to fire her into space.
When is the next launch?

I think with Alberta ingenuity and creative assembly of unused pipeline scraps, combined with our natural gas reserves...we should be able to get her up there by the weekend.

Pipeline scraps...we could create the world's first 'Space Elevator!'
Or perhaps a cannon of some sort?

Premier talks and gives insight to the struggles of fighting Ottawa to get oil to market. Nice to see she is so passionate about it.

What are naysayers going to do and say if AHS emergency wait times and surgery wait times do improve after this change?
Obviously it’s still up in the air, but it obviously wasn’t working.
Shouldn’t we all want an efficient system with well structures EMS services, Efficient flow through emergency rooms and minimal days to wait for surgeries from scheduling to completion?
No matter what government is in, those should be the targets while still costing the as minimal as possible to run a high level, efficient healthcare system.

What changes? Hire more people? Move patients into appropriate facilities that don't exist? Give everyone taxpayer dollars to pay for a naturopath?

Well if the reduction is due RSV/Covid/Flu infection rates dropping and hospital wait times drop to historical norms and surgical wait times drop also due to these working their way through the system then I would say she would deserve no credit.
In fact outside of offering overtime their isn’t really any sustainable meaningful thing you can do to a system the size of AHS that you can attribute measurable affects to in 6 months

Effectively the same party has had a chance to "fix health care" since Alberta was born*.
But yes, this time will be different.
We will increase capacity with more beds, hiring more staff and increased facilities and capital...
...err right after we get done saying it's a bloated system, overpaid lackey staff, and facilities we don't need and don't need to buy any others.
(* - yes a few party changes here or there throughout Alberta's history, but for all intents and purposes)...
