Poor offense and poor goaltending this game.
Hopefully some guys can turn it up a bunch of notches.

Unfortunately, we're looking like a pretty mediocre team, that will be too good to get high-end draft picks and not good enough to be a legit contender.

The team lacks high-end talent, has one of the oldest teams in the NHL and has multiple guys signed to long-term contracts 35+.

I guess just have to hope they get in and enjoy what we can. I don't see an offramp with the contracts we have.

Mangiapane appears to be quickly becoming Neal 2.0. He's been a huge disappointment through 16 games; hopefully he can turn it around, but he really looks like a guy who just signed a big contract and not playing with the kind of urgency he needs to play with.

Kadri had an off night. Didn't look like himself.

Not sure what the best fit will be for Huby. Sutter can't seem to find the best fit for him, which is worrying.

Marky can't, and I mean just can't let in that 3rd goal.

Lucic, with all due respect is playing better than the 2nd half of last year but, let's be honest, I'm not sure what he brings to the table anymore aside from his size.

Gilbert played well tonight. Keep him in the lineup.

I would love to know what the message from the coaches was after the loss to the oilers.

Coaching staff really seemed to overreact to that loss and haven’t found the mojo since.

This shouldn’t be overlooked either…the strength of schedule is the hardest in the NHL by far.

Think our average opponent is on pace for 100 points right now…which is like playing a division winner all season.

I think fans are so frustrated given how awesome the team looked in the first six games. WTAF happened?

Gotta beat good teams to go anywhere in this league.

The loss of Gaudreau and Tkachuk just gutted the skill on the team. Playoffs 50/50

Coach blew up the lines and things went south from there.

3/4 lines were great and the fourth wasn’t costing us anything

Strength of schedule. Come on. This isn’t college football. There are no gimmes. If the flames can’t keep up with average and above average teams, then all it does is prove they’re below average.

Unfortunately not every player is playing for a contract like last year. Combine that with baffling coaching decisions and poor goaltending and it’s gonna be an uphill battle to turn this season around.

No. This is a good team. A team that has dominated/outplayed most teams they've played this year(mostly good/hot teams at that) and are unlucky not to have a better record than they do now. It's a process. There's new faces in top positions, and it's not always a smooth, easy adjustment. They'll figure it out and get rolling. Hopefully Treliving can add another top 6 forward sooner rather than later though.

That's a pretty good team in Tampa I'm not going to get too down on the team. Especially as their D is decimated and has new pairings each game searingly. They had a good couple of outings before this game.

Be nice if Markstrom didn't turn full Mike Smith though and let in at least one softie a game.

Kadri has more points than Johnny. Huberdeau should be able to replace Tkachuk's points but hasn't so far.

Neither Johnny or Tkachuk showed up in the playoffs. Neither wanted to be here. Hopefully this team squeaks into the playoffs then we can judge.

The coach decided that the lines he was using weren't working so he threw them into a blender and he we are. The bigger question is when is he going to switch back to the lines from the start of the year?

With what cap space and you can’t spend your future.

Dubs,Rosey aren’t going to cut it and if you thought we had a position of strength to trade from on the backend. You can’t until it gets healthy and even then it’s probably a shot on the dart board.

You can’t trade the kids because if you do it’s even darker then it already is…

The funny thing is it seems that most of Markstrom's problems are in his head. I think that if he gets a shutout he will get his mojo back, and go on a run.

Also there was an interesting observation from Warner after the win against LA. He said that Markstrom struggles when he has to move from right(blocker side) to left(glove side) and make a stop. I tend to agree that Markstrom seems to be better when moving from left to right than from right to left.

Huberdeau won’t break 50 points if he’s playing with Trevor Lewis (and to a less degree) Mikael Backlund.

Player usage this season has been hot garbage. Yep, Huberdeau could be better, but his skill set is all about puck distribution…and when you have no one offensively talented to pass to this is what you get.

It is beyond stupid to sign a player for $10.5M and then play him with Trevor Lewis. This is a terrible beginning to a decade-long relationship.

Johnny was over a point a game in the playoffs last year and scored one of the greatest goals in franchise history against the Stars to win the series. He wasn’t very good outside of getting some assists in the BOA though
