I haven't seen them all together, but the team was breaking in their black gear in practice on the weekend.
I assume they'll be wearing the same gear with both black jerseys.

I just want to re-iterate how nice the crest on this jersey is - and really all of the prime green jerseys for that matter.
Honestly I don't want to buy more jerseys but I might have to just to get prime green versions of the crest on the home , away, and new blasty third. The Crest quality with the extra details are just so much nicer than they used to be.

I'd say it glows orange not red... Also the source of many fires are black or turn black so the colour is not out of place. The retros are the best jersey but I don't mind having black alternatives.

One thing that annoys me about these reverse retros is the NHL logo. In the 90s the logo had one orange outline and a black one, this one has two orange outlines, which makes it clash horribly with the red on the collar.
As for the flames and black, the 80s look gets old pretty fast, it'd be nice to have something new and livelier with a bit of black.

Many non-Flames fans seem to call the Flames colour "orangey red", which I think is due to the red/yellow mix on TV that makes the eye see this. It reps the "flames" colour well.

While the 2003-07 red jersey with the black flaming C is a thing of beauty I'm not sure I would want black to play as big of a role in future designs. I think black should be used but (aside from pants) it should only be a trim colour used to separate white from yellow. Use enough to make for crisper contrast between the brighter areas of the jersey but otherwise nothing thicker than the black layer in the current white C for the Reverse Retro jersey.

After the road trip, we will be wearing black jerseys for 5 games in a row. Blasty for the Tkachuck return game, and then 4 straight home games wearing the Black Pedastals.
