I like everything about the game. I'll load up RDR or GTA and just explore and see what happens. I hate games like TLOU that dictate exactly what you have to do next. I'm guessing we are different in that opinion so don't expect to love the game just because people like me do. I have no problem giving up on a game if it doesn't pull me in.
I have no issue with linear or non-linear stories; this is an open world game and I love, for example, Witcher 3. I really like Horizon Zero Dawn. So it's not a difference of opinion about liking games with freedom to do whatever you want as opposed to games that tell a linear story - I can get into both. It's just a matter of the myriad options you have the freedom to do needing to actually be fun and rewarding when you're doing them. Horizon, for example, would be kind of a slog if it wasn't actually a fun challenge to use the many wildly different tools and weapons available to take down the different types of giant robot dinosaurs.

While I greatly enjoyed RDR2, I found the open world almost too big. Eventually I just stuck to the main story line only. I would basically ignore pleas for help from randos. I eventually tire of any open world game actually and end up just blitzing through the main story.
Headache worries aside, my silly concern with PSVR2 is the same as for the first: will it fit my giant head?
I couldn't find any store that had a demo unit last time around, and I'm not sure I want to waltz in Bestbuy and try on a VR unit in these pestilent times
But it's academic at this point. I just ain't paying $800 to play Moss and the Star Wars games.
The backwards compatibility feels like big misstep. I have a library of games I've half finished on the current PSVR that would be fun to play with better controls and I refuse to re-buy them when they do get upgraded for PSVR2.
I can't be the only one playing God of War, right? Having a really great time with it, and I hear it opens up even more after the half way point. Probably my game of the year.

Pretty far and it’s decent, it definitely opens up and the enjoyment factor ratchets up a fair amount. It’s no Elden Ring but it’s a good game to pass the time

I'm trying to be good and not buy everything I want before Christmas like I usually do so my Wife Doesn't get mad

It just came in yesterday finally for me. I'm only a couple of hours in though.

I have it nearly complete, another fun GoW game and it looks great on the PS5. I still have Elden Ring as my GotY currently, it was just so enthralling and the world just sucked me in more.
On a completely different note, Digital foundry recently did their DF Direct weekly podcast on whether or not the Series S is actually holding back next generation gaming. It was a pretty interesting listen.

I like it much more than Elden Ring, which I found to be much too difficult to actually enjoy most of the time.

I am pretty early in the game only about 5 hours in and I love it. I did it play the series until a couple of years ago when I got the PS5 and the PS4 game was part of the essentials package that I was able to download. I loved that game and this one so far feels like everything you want in a sequel. The nicest looking game I have played on the PS5 and the gameplay is so much fun.
I took next Thursday and Friday off for Football, Flames, and to get some serious time in on GoW

I'm a big series fan since the original, and it's been nice that Sony has found a way to keep a couple PS2 IPs relevant in their current portfolio (Ratchet and Clank being the other major one).
That God of War has maintained status as one of their premier franchises, and every release has been on the cutting edge of technology and quality, is a testament to Sony Santa Monica. I even liked Ascension and the PSP spin-offs.

I'm liking it like I liked the last one. I just thought the last one was a little overrated a bit. I feel so far that it will probably be the 2nd best game I've played this year after Eldon Ring which is an all time great game up there with Witcher 3, RDR2, Half Life 2, GTAV, TLOU.
