He's an RFA though so that's the main reason for a lack of urgency.

Are large goalies becoming a thing of the past? Do you have any evidence of this trend?
|
I'd like to know what metric you're using to come up with this? Wolf has better CHL/AHL stats and awards than probably any starter currently playing.

Yeah, Wolf might be the most decorated goalie prospect in the sport at the moment. He's an amazing talent. We don't know what he'll be in the NHL but he's extremely exciting.

Bit of a spit ball here, but I'd love to see Konecny on this team! He's a sutter style player and he can be a solid addition to our top line!
In terms of what would be needed I'd break it down to this:
CGY Out: Kylington, Dube, Coronato, 2023 1st
Phi Out: Konecny, Hogberg
Potential Lines:
Huberdeau-Lindholm-Konecny
Mangiapane-Kadri-Toffoli
Ruzicka-Backlund-Coleman
Lucic-Lewis-Ritchie
Conversely I wouldn't scoff at making a trade for O'Reilly, putting him in between Huberdeau, and (moving) Lindholm on the Wings.
Would likely need to move Lucic to make room.

Overlooking the overpay, trading Kylington while he's on leave and dealing with something is not how the Flames operate. Would be gross if they did

With Erik Karlsson's apparent resurgence this year, I wonder if the Sens would entertain bringing him back to Ottawa? They need D and Karlsson is lighting it up so far (18GP, 10G, 14A, 24PTS). Obviously they'll want SJ to eat some salary and I actually would steer clear if I were Ottawa but it would be a neat story to see him return.

Sens aren't going to add this season and EK is probably happy where he is living the SJ life

I know Timo Meier has a crazy qualifying offer, but is he not almost the perfect target acquisition for this team?
Sure, complications exist around his QO and how we would fit even a deal below his QO into the fold…but that would be one hell of an addition

Would be super on board for Meier if the team looks like it can do some damage.

I don’t think you have to add Coronato from Calgarys side on that Philly deal,

I think Meier would be a Sutter favorite. He has size, finesse, and some power-forward qualities, and he plays a good 200-ft game. Best of all, he is good at entries and exits. Only problem is-can he play RW? He's listed as a left shooting LW....

I am having a hard time seeing a deal that makes sense to the team unless they take a guy like Drouin or Dandanov off the Habs at 50% retained for basically nothing
|
Well picks and prospects are all they really have to deal it seems. Unless you traded a Hanifin and at least get some depth back in return along with a forward.

Meier is listed as a RW on most sites

So is Meier's situation exactly the same as Tkachuk's was this summer? High qualifying offer to retain and he could very well just sign for a year if he doesn't want to stay on the team that holds his rights? If so, nope, don't see Treliving putting himself in that situation ever again if he can help it.

Jeepers... you're trading for Konecny not MacKinnon...

Sens would have needed to look a lot better to entertain that idea early this season. Right now they're last in the atlantic and battling injuries, no way they pay a price for a rental, even if his return would be a nice story.

I think Wolf will succeed in a Sutter defensive system with NHL DMan in front of him. Wolf rarely lets in a bad goal, his movement is insane, can’t wait to see him up here
