The GOMBs model show is coming up on October 1 at the Chapelhow Legion in the North East. There'll be lots of really cool stuff on display, and this show is always fun (the award categories have a lot of humour). I've got a few builds to show off. Come on out for some harmless fun.

Does anyone here make, or know anyone who makes, custom carved wood signs? Looking to get a door sign made for a cabin...and not having a ton of luck searching online for anything locally done. Perhaps that's something one of you talented people do.

Hmmmm. It would depend on what you want. I don’t know anybody specific that does this. I’d be open to chat to see what options might be best for you. Maybe I could help steer you a direction?
Haven't done one of these in ages and the bin of bottles was calling. This was a bit more of a challenge since the bottle was only a 100 ml, meaning I could really just do the ship two-dimensionally and it's meant to be viewed from one side only. The extra detail - cloth sails, raised aft and forecastles, and the cannons - made up for it. It wasn't without problems, but I'm calling it a warm-up for another, larger one. And it'll make for a nice gift for someone:
Spoiler!

Hopefully this qualifies as making
For the past couple of years I've put together calendars with my own photos to fundraise for conservation groups. This year I changed it up and collaborated with 12 other Alberta based photographers for 2023's calendar.
Hey I’m downtown at eighth avenue place until 2 today. 2nd floor.
Come say hi if you are in the area.
Snagged a beautiful carving board from Surferguy the other day. The pictures don't do it justice. The thing is smooth as glass, and put together incredibly well. I got one of the Chevron style ones. Maybe he can post a pic of it.
Thanks Surferguy!
