Seriously? There are many, many people who are orders of magnitude worse human beings than Eric Francis. You may not like how he does his largely meaningless and innocuous job, but everything beyond that would indicate that he is actually a pretty good guy.

The numbers actually suggest that the offense was a bigger problem than the defense and goaltending, during the slump:
Goals for:
1st 6..: 22 (3.67 GPG)
next 7: 16 (2.29)
Goals against:
1st 6..: 17 (2.83)
next 7: 26 (3.71)
Both were bad during the slump, obviously, and both need to improve. The Jets game was a good start.

I use the CBS Injury site as it has the option to view by team or by Daily update. I think the injuries are updated once officially reported to the league but we would have to defer to one of the regulars here for deeper insight on how it works.

So Huberdeau is down almost 3 minutes of ice time a game. Just to compare Gaudreau was getting 18:34 last season, Huberdeau is getting 16:49 so almost 2 minutes less. Mangiapane is getting about 45 seconds more of ice time, hardly playing a lot more.
For comparison only team playing a star player less is Dallas with Robertson. LA playing Kopitar and Kempe 20 and 18 minutes.

Going to the game tonight with my daughter on her birthday turning 8 years old. Even paid the $25 for birthday mention during the 2nd intermission.
Don't want to jinx it (I don't believe in that kind of stuff anyway), but since we moved from Japan in 2018 she's been to 1 game a year since (minus covid times of course). Already went once this year versus Vegas, so this will be 2 so far this year. She's never left the 'Dome after a loss, she's 5-0. C'mon Flames lets make it 6-0 for her shall we?

They charge $25 for that now???? That's terrible.
Maybe 8 years ago I did it for my daughter. All you had to do was call customer service then.

Yeah but it's a verified birthday mention.

What? No, not seriously. I wasn't seriously wishing that a ####ing asteroid would hit a person. It was obviously a greatly exaggerated euphemism to describe my disdain for his atrocious excuse for sports journalism.

Sutter gave Ruzicka a true, real, honest shot, and it appears to be paying dividends.
Hopefully he sees that a similar thing could happen with one or more of these guys from the Wranglers.
The NHL is 2022 is about speed & skill. One or more of these guys could provide some for a team currently 31st in the NHL in shooting percentage.

I mean if there’s a spare meteor available…
But the one occasion I talked to him he seemed like a pretty good guy. He’s also well aware of his heel status and it is completely sanctioned.

Has any team gone deep in the playoffs playing their best players so little?

Is there any correlation between giving guys more ice time and winning? Is LA the team we should be emulating?
Also, I strongly suspect that Huberdeau's ice time will start to rise into that 18-19 minute range, as soon he settles into a line that is working.

To be honest, I doubt October ice time has much to do with the playoffs in any way

I get Dube and Coleman being poor, but Lucic has done nothing to earn a slot on the 2nd line he shouldn't even be in the lineup these are puzzling moves when are you are trying to win.

It’s a motivation tactic. Get more smart please.

Look across and league and find me a team that plays it's best offensive player so little?
So yes giving a player more ice time to get going and producing is going to help us win. Like I said Huberdeau specifically stated that more ice time and playing the PK really helped him last season. Sutter has decided less ice time and shifts is what will get him going. It's not like the guy has been a defensive disaster or anything either if he was cheating the game I would understand playing him so little. Even giving him shifts with the 4th line would help and help keep one of those guys off the ice as well.

If all teams do it, then it has zero correlation with winning.
