The best part about the Blumel story is that is sounds like the Oilers didn't mean to lose his rights but just didn't understand the rules (drafted out of the USHL, but then went pro in Europe instead of the usual route). I am sure the information was posted in here, but for anyone that may have missed it, they sent out an official Tweet the same day they lost his rights praising him as a prospect to watch.
Too bad the Flames didn't sign him just for laughs.

The Flames are pretty active following the Czech leagues.... I bet they were in on him, but lost out to Dallas...

I honestly thought that for the most part Oilers fans were pretty reasonable people... Then a discussion on another forum came up and everyone was saying how great of a person (not hockey player but person) Evander Kane is. I politely told them that even if you don't believe his ex wife he has a number of accusations against him for years ranging from simple assault to sexual violence to the stupid and mundane like the bankruptcy and document forging. Literally all of them jumped to his defense and said anyone could make an accusation and it meant nothing. I just have to shake my head at the absolutely delusional fan base. Cheer for your team but don't pretend they are all great people because they are good at a sporting team you like.

also if he was such a good person why did the jets and sharks teams want nothing to do with him . why would the captain throw his track suit in the shower ? why did numerous sharks players express that they would refuse to play with him if he was allowed back ?
the body of evidence pointing to this guy being an absolute dirtbag is more than overwhelming
being a player on your team doesn't cleanse a man's s***y personality . if anything being a part of the oilers where individuals are put above the team probably is conducive to his already toxic traits

You totally forgot Buffalo!
Also, the allegation that he welched on a bribe for an abortion. That one always floors me.
True or not true, even being accused of that is some pretty bottom-of-the-barrel stuff.
It is entirely possible, if not likely, that Kane is not a Stand Up guy.

oh yeah heard his time in buffalo was interesting too
all three stops before edmonton had baggage .. but now he's squeaky clean?
he probably feels at home with all the villains that play and work up there . by comparison , nicholson and mactavish make him look like just an average joe

You can be accused of something and still be innocent.
But when you're accused of many things the chances that you're innocent have to be in a steep decline.
Hopefully that didn't offend anyone. Hard to say these days!

Didn't Kane also develop a bad reputation early on in Winnipeg for compulsive dining-and-dashing? I seem to remember there being numerous complaints from local establishments of him skipping out on checks.
*EDIT* Mind you, that is the Edmonton way.

Do yourself a favour and NEVER visit hfoil. Five minutes in that cesspool and you'll be heading straight for the "I Don't Want To Live On This Planet Anymore" thread

I like Oiler fans less than actual Oilers, for the most part. The ones I work with tend to lay low, but as a group, I’ve rarely seen a more delusional and entitled group.

Agreed. Everyone likes to complain about the fans of their rivals, but I have never seen a group more ridiculous (collectively) than Oiler fans. Roughy fans are similar, in the sense that they seem to believe the world revolves around their fandom, but Oiler fans take that small town cluelessness, and mix it with arrogance, delusion, and friction.
They are a breed all to themselves.

Not included in that link are the distasteful photos he posted flaunting his wealth or how he alienated himself in Winnipeg. I realize those things aren't legal issues, but they speak to his character as well.
