Can't remember the last time I've seen Oettinger get lit up like that.

Yeah Milano was full on garbage here in camp. If they awarded him a spot based on his play it would have been the dumbest thing in the world.

Not to mention the entire league also passed on him...Caps gave him a deal because they had injuries and sent him to the AHL (cleared waivers)

Saying "Flames blew it" is pretty stupid

would it though .. if Milano ends up with 30-45 points this season signing him would still have been the dumbest thing in the world ?

once in a while taking a league minimum risk based on good faith that a skill player can contribute can pay off

Ritchie, Lewis and roonie don't have that upside . at least keeping a guy like that on the wings can provide that potential if he shakes off the cobwebs . Flames like to handcuff themselves to an abundance of low ceiling options because of their early energy levels and then find themselves in need of skill and production weeks later

I dunno .. might be worth re evaluating given how that's working out for them

that said we will see how the rest of Milanos season goes

If oettinger can get lit up like a Christmas tree then the flames breaking out is possible

Wasn't Oettinger hurt? I seem to remember that. Maybe still not quite feeling right.

IF he gets 30-45 points I'm guessing the entire league would probably wish they gave him a contact or picked him up on Waivers.

Pretty big if considering he is only playing because of massive injuries in Washington

What's weird is Vasilevskiy also had one of the worst games of his career tonight.

Stars come out hungry in the third but learn that a full 60 minutes is what it takes to win.

As it's a pretty quiet night of hockey in the NHL I'll go way oot to mention a few games going on in other leagues.

Canada Red and Canada White both currently playing in the World under 17 Hockey Challenge in BC

Canada Red 6 - 3 Sweden Final *Tij Iginla with 1G 1A
Canada White 8- 2 Finland Final
Calgary Wranglers defeated the Manitoba Moose today
Wranglers 3 - 2 Moose

For sure. The 2nd and 3rd periods were looking like line brawls and gooning it up. Stamkos getting called for a boarding penalty, Aube-Kubel with a match penalty, and Perry getting into a fight and 2 minor penalties earlier on. It's a home/away series with Sunday's game in Tampa Bay. There will be more fireworks happening.
