Is that for real or just the mirage of democrats more likely to vote early or by mail? Watching hockey, so not following closely.

Depends how states count but it looks more than a mirage.

It's a mirage, definitely. Early numbers are overrepresented by early voting and mail in ballots.

Interesting hypothesis.
Might I suggest doing some research, and perhaps reading through this thread. There are a lot of posters here who will give alternate viewpoints, and discuss in good faith.
You do get the odd poster that does a drive by throwing absolute **** at the wall then runs away.

Maybe... maybe there's been a lot of unrest with people being killed which would make the war hot.
If we don't call it a battle, is it a battle? Can people be killed in a cold war?
Who's to say?

Early returns are mail in ballots which we know sway toward the democrats.

Don't those get counted after the in-person ballots?

I'm prepared for a bad night for the Dems, if it's not too terrible I'll be pleasantly surprised.
I can't believe Herschel Walker has a chance to be a senator. It's hilarious and frightening. He has no clue what's going on in the world. I know he'd just be an empty suit and a gimmie vote, but he really is not intelligent at all.

I don't know which is more awful: that enough people are voting for Walker to win Georgia or that the Democrats can't find a candidate that is capable of beating a trainwreck like Walker.

It's tough to keep track of. Generally they are counted first now as long as they come in early enough (they can come in after election day and be counted if they are postmarked in time). States change laws all the time though and some states can't count them early, or can only start counting as polls open.
Also mail in voting is becoming more popular by both parties as states have opened it up since covid, so it's pretty tough to generalize anything, and there is early in person voting mixed in with mail in voting.

Don't think I've ever seen so many educated, polite people who are obviously very cautious about using racialized terms trying to find ways to dance around just outright calling someone an Uncle Tom.

Adam Laxalt is going to win in Nevada. Very difficult to see how the Democrats retain control. They'll have to win in Georgia, Pennsylvania, and Arizona. Right now it looks like all three of those are 50/50s, so they basically need to win three coin flips in a row.

It wouldn't matter what candidate they put in. Most of the right will not vote any other way no matter what.

Odds are in the house’s favor on that parley.
Surely the Dems look for a new leader to run in 2024.

The Guardian is suggesting the opposite. ie Mail ins are generally later.
Quote:
Vote totals are likely to shift throughout the evening as well as in the days that follow election day as votes continue to be counted. That shift isn’t unusual and can be explained by two dynamics, said Charles Stewart III, a political science professor at MIT who specializes in election administration.
First, he said, the places that report their votes first tend to be smaller, Republican jurisdictions. Second, many places report their in-person election day vote first and their mail-in absentee vote later. Those votes tend to skew towards Democrats.
"Larger jurisdictions also tend to be more Democratic. Therefore tend to have more absentee and mail ballots. You’re getting both of these dynamics pushing in the same way, which then leads to what appears to be this big rush of Democratic ballots counted at the end,” he said.

From NBC news:
Quote:
Nearly 2 in 3 voters in Georgia’s closely contested Senate race think Republican candidate Herschel Walker does not have good judgment, the NBC News Exit Poll found. The race is too early to call.
|
Like WTF... LOL! I'm voting for the guy that I think has poor judgement.
