Agreed. 
The EQS looks too rounded for my tastes but maybe in person that would change.  
All of these options beat a Tesla to me though.

It was the EQS SUV that I saw... amazing.
 
I like the eTron GT/Taycan as well, but the EQS sedan and SUV are so much more practical for a family.
 
And that hyperscreen.... OMG.

I am not a fan of the giant screen in the sedan, but for some reason, I feel it works in the SUV.

I was in Denver and the dealers there had some in stock.
 
Also managed to finally check out the BMW iX - also a really nice car, but wife wants a 7-seater lol

Looks awesome in the sedan too. 
 
Now the BMW i7 is coming out.... that thing looks insane. I don't know how Tesla plans to stay ahead outside of relying on the cult of Elon.

I have seen the reviews on the i7 and the tech is insane (check out the Doug Demuro review regarding the automatic opening and closing doors) but that doesn't represent what's available to the masses.  However it does illustrate how far legacy automakers have come in a relatively short time.  Once stuff like that trickles down into mainstream vehicles it's going to make Telsa's look and feel archaic in comparison.  Their head start in battery technology can only carry them so far.

Yeah, I am just comparing the i7 to the Tesla Model S.  I think Hyundai & Kia will be attacking that Model 3 demo, as their electric cars look really cool and also have some great tech.
 
Unless you want the ability to go really really fast in a straight line, I don't know why else you would choose Model S over the BMW. Or even SUV - Model X vs iX or EQS? No contest IMO.
 
BMW/MB have better tech, better ride, better build quality... AINEC

yes I Didnt take into account all the fees, etc for power transmission ,  with all of those in place  (assuming all fees  on per KWH basis )  rate is about $0.17/ kwh  so about $23 / 1000 km. 
 
the cold is definitely taking a toll on the  range / efficiency  -    the worst ive seen my range is about 250-275km   vs 438 rated 
 
I drive 100km round trip each day so this still works well for us 
 
we are coming up on 4000km and have saved enough to cover the charger and install

			Dumb question that I'm too tired to use my brain on...how does the cold shake things out cost wise? Are you getting fewer miles per kWh and still paying to charge the entire capacity? Or is it just harder to utilize all of the energy in the battery, but it doesn't necessarily get depleted? 
 I think to my older iphones on the ski hill - they'd power themselves off in the cold but still have like 50% battery when I powered them on again indoors...

Most of the range loss isn't really that the battery is cold per se, though that certainly does decrease some efficiency, it's that both the battery and cabin need heat to function. With an ice vehicle, there's excess heat from the engine anyways so there's no loss. For electric vehicles they need to use power to heat them up so there's less electricity left to send to the wheels

 The only downside of PHEVs is you don't get the reduced complexity benefits of an EV, now you have MORE things to break than either an EV or ICE car.

Sure, it's a trade off, but you don't have to worry about range anxiety.  Really depends on the use case.

			It would be nicer if the PHEVs operated in pure EV mode until they ran out of juice.  It defeats the purpose if your commute is 30k but at highway speeds.
