I watched the Isles feed and it's clearly Coleman's stick. And Romanov left the bench so it would have been a double minor most likely. But even the play by play guy said something like "well there's another missed call", just bad reffing all night.

The reffing sucked, but the narrative of they're the reason the Flames lost is just a bit much. It's hockey, you'll get some calls, you'll lose some calls. It's just how it is.

Markstrom has been keeping them in games lately while their dzone coverage has been continually hanging him out to dry.

Lots of debate over the reffing tonight, but the Anderson crosscheck was a stupid penalty to take in OT. Regardless of what did or did not get called earlier.

Listen mate, we can agree to disagree cause you obviously think that the refs were the sole reason for the Flames' loss while I don't see it that way. It's totally fine Enjoy the rest of your night.

never said that one time...but the Flames didn't get a single call all game despite controlling the play
Also the OT call was a MASSIVE dive, go watch it
Flames dominate possession nearly every game yet have a poor 41-50 spread in penalties

Glass half full is they've been the better team almost every game this season.
10 minute collapses are killing them, which need to stop.
Chemistry takes time and so many players are playing below even their average abilities.
It must come together at some point but boy is it frustrating right now.

That's a tough penalty because watching it if Pelech was set Andersson just bounces off. Instead a little shove sent him flying but definitely in OT should not be called. As for the miss call on the high stick those happen all the time and many missed called in the first period.
You can argue all you want but the reffing is atrocious when the other team is allowed to run over your goalie. I can't think of another time that a penalty was not called on clear goalie interference.

you have to be encouraged by the pairings of zadorov-weegar and huberdeau-lindholm tonight though .. it is slowly coming together
now imagine if we could have lines 1 and 2 going at the same time!

The first few games of this losing streak, it felt like we played well for 10 mines, and had 50 minutes of poor play. The last two games have felt like 50 minutes of good hockey and 10 minutes of garbage. Heading in the right direction!

At least they still got a couple of points over these last two games, so that's certainly a positive. I didn't see tonight's game, but judging from the highlights and the post-game discussion, it sounds like they played much better tonight. I think they're on the verge of busting out of this slump.

I really wish Sutter would reunite Mangiapane - Backlund - Coleman. With so much roster turnover, this team needs some sort of stability. That line is the only thing we can trust right now.

Was always worried about paying Mangiapane he has looked awful. He really went on a heater he wasn't a consistent scorer last year.

A positive note is that there are a LOT of Flames that are not playing nearly as well as they can. Mostly forwards. When they actually get going this team will be in good shape. Feels like when they start going on a winning streak it could be a very long one.

I think you draw penalties mostly by fighting to get to the dirty areas, not from possession.
