Its like EA NHL a few years ago when the play by play referred to Stajan as "stay-han"

It’s all mental. He’s feeling the pressure of a new market with a massive contract
That pass coming up the ice on the powerplay was shocking. Missed a wide open target by 5 feet. This is supposed to be his strength!

Why do we care so much about how a name is pronounced?

Honest question...who the #### cares???!!!

Why is pronouncing a man’s name correctly distracting?

Do you think his poor play and lack of impact is a result of the fact he has never had to be the go to player/line? As it was usually the Barkov line that other teams focused on. So he got secondary match ups? He is incredibly frustrating thus far. To the point where as much as Johnny isn’t lighting it up in Colombus, I think Gaudreau ( due to his play driving skills and the fact he always faced the other teams top lines) would fit better on this team vs Huby.

Is that not because most announcers cannot produce that pronounciation of the 'd' sound?

Unless I am mistaken he's pronouncing this:

with a bit of a Canadian accent.

He's been okay. But reminds me more of his season from the year before the 35g one. Just kind of worked off pucks too easily.

Seems to be his own invention with a phlem gargled A followed by a roll up the rim style finish. He’s the only one using it. Heck even Ron McLean pronounces him Kaw-dree

isn't it a badge of honor for play by play folk to get their names down correctly? I thought nazem himself clarified the pronunciation in the summer

guess singh didn't get the memo lol
