Hated the player, but love the analyst.

I have to admit that his perspective, of the jerk player, really does add a lot of entertainment to the sports panels.

He's such a goof, but he's outstanding on the HNIC panel.

As much as I hated him as an opponent, I always chuckled at the 'Ferkland" thing. I love that brand of subtle IRL trolling.

And agreed, he's a hell on an analyst. I just worry one of these days Friedman is gonna to legitimately snap on him. He's definitely the Yang to Friedman's Ying.

Hated him on the ice, but respect that his career path took the long road and he carved out a decent career. I agree that he brings a lot of character and interesting perspectives in his TV role.

Now that I dont have to see him playing, my hate has dissipated, so good for him.

I agree with everyone that he's a great hockey personality.

He was a good player but was also your typical Canuck for the era: tough on the surface but when the going gets tougher, he'll fold like a cheap tent.

For that, I'm thankful to Bieksa for identifying one of my favorite Flames players and hockey compilation videos of all time:

Don't they know that "one day contract" is just a formality? You're not actually supposed to make the guy practice.

Could argue hes one of the better players on the ice at that practice when looking at Vancouver's roster.

Goddamn that was fun.

I especially love when you can see Bieksa brace for the impending Ferland hit and still get knocked on his ass.
