Interesting that the top 3 teams in the power rankings have pretty pedestrian save percentages.

Last game was very anti-Sutter hockey........bad defensively, gave up a two goal lead in the 3rd, giveaways galore. I expect a much better team tonight.
5-2 Flames.

Would be real swell to see the top llne break out, Markstrom shut the door, and the Flames lock the lead down. Need a Sutter game!

Personally, I think there is a huge difference mentally / confidence-wise between:
6-3 and 5-3 at home, or
5-4 and 4-4 at home.
So ya, this is a pretty big game (I think) to demonstrate that this team is for real or not. Better see a good effort.

When Sutter first took over the team he was really hard on Gaudreau because he made too many low percentage plays in transition and in the grey zones, turning pucks over.
Then he stopped ...
The current team seems to be in a rush to control the game, rather than letting the game come to them and their system.
Pretty sure Sutter sees the same and is harping on letting the structure do it's thing.
It'll come around.

The faceoff percentage has gotten better but it seems like we lose the big draws on the PK on the PP.
It was one of the big things Peters harped on and the team was really good that season. Top faceoff teams usually do well in the standings it seems as well.

Need a full 60 min effort in this one. No more taking full periods off and not being ready to go from the start. The team has not been good in front of the goalies but the goalies need to be a lot better and no more softies.Need some big saves and timely saves.Go Flames Go.

My son is playing Timbits 1st intermission. Surely that's a good luck charm and guaranteed win?

I recall Tanev getting hit and looking a bit awkward afterwards last game. Hope it's not an injury to that shoulder.

If Saros starts I hope he's as bad as he was in Edmonton. He looked like he was trying to avoid getting hit by the puck on a bunch of those goals.
