That was just a disgraceful last 15 minutes of hockey by the Flames. Better figure it out boys because if that’s the kind of hockey this team is going to play then I think a rebuild in a Bedard draft year would have been the better route to go. Let’s face it, since the Buffalo game they’ve been very mediocre.

This is a really weird example. Kadri’s name is Arabic, completely unrelated to Punjabi. So no, the phonetics are not the same.

At the same time, you gave a pronunciation example from Kannada, again, unrelated to Punjabi.

That said, there seems to be a version of the name borrowed into Urdu that’s quite common, and that’s my guess as to what Singh is saying.

Well, that was not what I was looking for in the game. Hope that the Flames stop playing down to opponents and letting them dictate the style/pacing.
