That’s terrifying and sounds like a horrific ordeal. I hope he’s alright both physically and mentally after going through something like that.

I genuinely have no idea how Spurs fans can enjoy watching this terrorism ball. Probably will again find a way to grind out what they need, but this utterly horrific to watch.

So a team that's without 3 of its 4 first choice forward players, best cb and is playing defensively?

You're surprised?

Yes, it's certainly been the first game this season they've looked this abject and negative.

I've been accused of being a fan of pretty much every team lol. Guess that means I really do cheer for no one.

Terrorism ball is a new one. I'll use that during the WC to impress my friends

It's something that will probably start a new trend to be honest.

I've always been confused why teams don't have more set piece variety (honestly it's the same thing in hockey where teams seem to have 1 or 2 PP formations).

I can't recall the exact number but I think it was something ridiculous like he had 4000 set piece options available for the Euro Cup for Italy.

Goals are so hard to come by in all sports nowadays that you need to have any competitive advantage you can.

4830 lol

The athletic had a piece in him last year and looking at some of the set pieces he did at euros

I agree I think it will be the norm soon

Just think of it financially, assume a coach is even just a few hundred thousand dollars

A goal in the league is worth way more than that to these clubs, it's a drop in the bucket, so even if a set piece cosch only adds 2 or 3 goals a year, it's a steal

the ascent of Eric Maxim Choupo-Mouting to fill the void of Lewandowski is probably the most random thing I've seen in a long time.

As much as I like to hate on Spurs, I don't blame them for playing a style suited to their roster.
Spurs don't have enough quality anywhere behind the front line to play any other way. When you have a 2 man team, you have to work a strategy that's best for that.

Anything else would be like the Oilers rolling 4 lines and trying to keep the game 5on5. Play to the strengths or your 2 players.

Honestly Marseille deserved a goal on the counter there after Spurs didn’t even try to score on that set piece in a tie game.

I don’t mind playing defensive but I can’t stand playing for a tie when you had a golden scoring opportunity there

Edit: Tidy finish by Hojberg there though

And winning the group kind of matters. Avoiding Bayern would be pretty wise....and they do anyway.

Soccer is so cruel sometimes. Marseille doing the honorable thing and playing for a win...lose and miss out on Europa League because of it.

Spurs sitting back and play for a draw, get the lucky break to give them a win and top of the group.
