Honestly it wouldn't have been a bad move for him to skip a tournament at this point in the year anyway and just show up in Turin. I think more guys at the top need to take more time off right from the start of their careers.
I see Felix is up to 6th in the live rankings, a new career high, and is within striking distance of Medvedev for top 5 depending on how they both do this week.

It's a shame that Zverev has dropped out of the top 10, a real shame...

Felix's first opponent on Wednesday will be Mikael Ymer who knocked out Bublik earlier today. Ymer has been playing some pretty good tennis this fall (made a nice run in Stockholm before losing to Tsitsipas).

This Jabeur-Sabalenka match is really good. Into set 3.

Shapo's match against Frankie Cerundolo is almost ready to start. Winner gets PCB in the next round.

I'm shocked Sabalenka didn't find a way to implode.

Bad Shapo has made his way to Paris as he drops the opening set to Cerundolo. To be fair, the Argentine is playing quite well, but just too many errors from Denis in that opening set.

Denis playng better and Cerundulo going off the boil and Shapo is serving for set 2 at 5-3 after breaking serve.
Edit: Shapo consolidates and we're going three sets.

Tuned in just in time to see him break for 5-3... let's see if he can serve it out.
EDIT: Yes he can. Although Cerundulo kind of gave that to him. Not playing well at all. Let's see how long his bathroom break goes for...

Shapo not getting enough 2nd serve returns in play - You gotta at least make Cerundolo hit the ball in those pressure situations.

40-15, double fault, and misses a wide open court with a forehand. Gets a gift on the next point or this could have gotten away from him in a hurry... good serve to close it out but it's a very scrambly and inconsistent game from him. What else is new I guess.
A lot of talking to his box going on as well. The attitude isn't conducive to success. He is getting those 2nd serves back now though.

Denis handed a gift by the Argentine and is serving for the match at 5-4 in set 3.

He very calmly dug out of a 0-30 hole in the previous game too. He's played great on the return the entire set, I just don't understand why he's so negative, constantly talking to his box and yelling and banging his racket on his shoe, and usually when his opponent is serving. I mean... dude, you're playing well here. You don't have to look like the world ends when you can't get a first serve back to the guy.
I wonder if he's just decided that this is what he needs to keep himself in it.
