I think that calls for automatic season ticket revocation.

Marky was solid aside from one gaffe. To claim that the Oilers are "still in his head" because of that one play is silly. It ignores the 59 minutes where he was really solid.

Doesn’t matter. They put up points. Our stars didn’t. Doesn’t even matter who our star players are apparently. Even with turnover, they are consistently outperformed. It’s a trend and it’s a fact. A concerning and disappointing fact.

I never commented on Markstrom so I don’t see how that’s relevant.

I’m with you on this one.

I didn’t think markstrom had his best night, but it doesn’t matter if he did. Mcdavid always presses in the third and he always gets the fluke goals. ####ing horse shoes

because the games aren't selling out so the oilers are filling up alot of seats and they are loud.

And it's probably because they don't get to see their team often because they live here, or they drove down and they're very excited.

In the 80's we were louder in the dome than edm fans i miss that

Not to mention all the complete bull#### around Touching McBitch. I enjoyed watching as many games a possible around the league every year. Last years garbage in the playoffs was enough to make sure I only got SN now instead of premium. Its all special teams hog ####.

yup it's bull####, i want to see 5v5 where there's no advantage and you have to fight to win. I just watched a full game from '86 and there was hardly any calls and it was back and forth action and it beats the product we get now.

Only call the penalties that take away good scoring chances and obviously dangerous infractions and stop picking ticky tacky behind the play stuff that has no bearing on the play.

It is indeed unfortunate that in accomplishing nothing other than repeated failure, our rivals were rewarded with a player talented enough to chase NHL records. The result is a player and by extension a team easy to bandwagon as the player accumulates individual accolades giving fans something to soapbox while the team eternally stumbles. The cursed side effect of this is of course the greater public presence of the insufferable Oiler fan.

i agree. Also, it's the second generational player they have had ontop of it!

You can't bring previous Flames stars into this conversation as they're not here anymore. The new stars are still getting accustomed to each other and finding their chemistry. It's a process. Any time you go through massive changes as the Flames just have, there's going to be a big adjustment period. It's the nature of sports.

You're trying to take the shortcomings of previous stars and use them to label the current ones. That's unfair.

And if you think the Flames got outplayed last night, I'd urge you to watch it back again. The Flames for the most part controlled play 5 on 5, but unfortunately made 3 mistakes and all 3 ended up in the back of the net.

Tough loss. Also, bordering on time to be concerned about the top line. Need players like Huby to be at his best in these types of matchups, so with him neutered on a line with no chemistry it’s tough to compete with the Oilers firepower.

Very early in the season but hopefully we see a Kadri/Lindy swap to see if that switch could unleash Huby and Lindy.

The team needs to worry about getting Huberdeau and Lindholm’s production up outside of the power play.

Other than the Buffalo game they have played well defensively and in net. The second line is probably our best line. The fourth line is performing above it’s expected level. Backlund’s line is doing its thing.

The top line isn’t performing. I’d bet if it hasn’t changed by game 10 that we see a Lindholm Kadri swap.

Seattle is NOT an auto win and I sure hope the Flames don’t look past them.

Well, you do you. The rest of us here at CP will continue to happily denigrate the Oilers with impunity for the rest of eternity.

Why is this such an issue? How are STH holders even supposed to know what team the buyer is cheering for?

he wasn't playing a lot last night and 7 games is enough to build chemistry? In 1986 the flames lost 11 in a row and the flames stayed put with the roster and lines and that team went to the Stanley cup final. Stick with it because toffolli is doing awesome and the line isn't even close to clicking, when it happens it will be awesome.

mang-kadri-dube is our best line by a country mile and teams will match tjeir top line against them leaving huby-lindy-tof with weaker opponents orthey will match their best against huby-lindy-toff taking kadri line lightly.
