Was at the game and flames ticket holders need to stop selling their tickets to greasy oilers fans. We were actually somewhat surrounded by oilers fans in our section. Thought we were at Rogers place for a minute.

I think playing the puck there is the right play you just have to make sure you knock it down. If you just leave those you make it way too easy for them to dump and chase with McDavid

At the end of the day, oilers fans still have to live in edmonton so it’s still a win.
Skinner wasn't lights out or spectacular by any means I don't think . they could've tested him much better & more than they did . and I think they can do that easily . oh well, next time (when the team is closer to mid season form and figured their lines out)

I think Lindholm and Toffoli are too similar in the offensive zone, both guys good at settling down in a soft spot and getting off a shot. But you need somebody to go to the net with speed to create that space.

Dube isn’t great with the puck on his stick at times but has great speed and drives the net recklessly. I think that would open up more space for Huberdeau and Lindholm to work. IMO Dube is very similar to both Bennett and Duclair who Huberdeau really clicked with.

I also think Kadri and Mangiapane could benefit from playing with more of a pure shooter like Toffoli.

Dube is a good idea. Someone that drives the net, Huby is great at passing but not carrying the puck.

Every time the Flames lose they are terrible and the worst team of all time

65% possession=didn't show up

Flames are the only team in the NHL that hasn't been outshot

Sutter was just asked in the post game what happened to Huberdeau when he left the bench in the first. Sutter stunned the room into silence: “I think he had to go take a ####”

You can see the skill in Huberdeau. He's trying too hard right now and you can see it in the blind passes that go nowhere. I believe he is a proud guy also. I bet it doesn't help seeing Tkachuk make a seemless transaction in Florida. He looks frustrated on the ice.

There were way too many shots right at him. And when they did try and pick the corners too many shots missed the net.

flames are still doing much better than you would expect for being so fresh off of a big shake up . most pegged them for a tough first month or so . I would take this start if you asked me in the summer, including the two outcomes with edm . a dominant win there and tight loss here with our team nowhere near polished .. yeah that's OK with me

Last 5 games vs oilers he is 0-5.
People say you can't juat hold him to the fire but the truth is that absolute stinker gave Edmonton hope and they came out charging.

He may be 4-1 but he has looked pretty bad in all but 1 game? He should be 4-2 because he was pulled and the outside the 1 good game he has had so far he has the people in front of him to thank for being a scoring powerhouse those games.

Dube has potential but needs to be more consistent

Team deserved to win. Markstrom had bad fortune. Oilers with a massive horseshoe. No big deal. Not predictably repeatable

Gotta move past it, it’s done.

The clip has been posted, reporter has to know Sutter isn't going to tell them what he hurt. Dumb question

I think the Flames clearly have a better team game than the Oilers, but you need the top guys to be game breakers.
the way i see it is the Flames have played some excellent team games against the Oilers in the regular season and outworked them but they need only let up for a few minutes for McDavid to strike

Edmonton has pieces that allowed them to get away with being outclassed for 3/4 of a game and still get the goals they need

you have to grind their top players down for 60 minutes and stay on their tails relentlessly

I still expect this goalie tandem of the Oilers to let them down in a big way when the level of the games escalates in the coming weeks . Campbell is not great and skinner is too fresh to handle a hefty load of games , and I think that will be the equalizer in the end

Can you think of one dominant shift or brilliant passing play by that line all year? I can't. I don't think they work together.

Oilers were fortunate to win tonight against a Flames team who didn't play their 'A' game.

Not too concerned. Just sucks it's against the pretenders up north. McDavid a lot of times is just enough for them to eek out some wins. I wish I lived in the reality where the oilers didn't win the lottery. Still completely ridiculous that happened.

Flames MO is throw a lot of pucks at the net. Thing is that means you win a lot of the metrics but not a ton of it is particularly high danger. The idea is to win on margins and probability. But a team like Edmonton is the antithesis of that and they go for as much high danger plays (for and against) as possible. Which means you need a goalie who can shut down some grade A chances to beat them. Flames also need to be a bit more creative with their offence. Shooting 40 shots and winning the shot battle doesn’t mean much.

Unfortunate situation. Losing sucks, but also draws this Markstrom drama out until December. Seems like a collision course for this to continue come playoffs.
