and they still suck lol it's not as fun as they don't have as many DBags on the team as they used to, i enjoyed their suffering more in the late 90's and 2000-2010
Dipietro was maybe the player the pandemic effected most
He played something like 2 games over a 20 month period, just completely stunted his development , and was passed by a few guys on depth chart
Hope he can find a spark with a new team where he should get ahl playing time and get his career back on track
My friends tell me he stayed in Vancouver during covid to be that extra goalie to save the Canucks money instead of having to go out and sign a warm body for that role instead. Not a good way to manage one of your prospects.

Hadn't heard about the money part, but wouldnt surprise me, squilini cost cut everywhere he could during covid
Dipietro was the goalie kept with the extra players in case of covid, so ya, didnt play at all
Only possibility that is somewhat probable is ian clark, the goalie coach, didnt believe in him and didnt view him as a possible nhl player so he was ok with him missing playing time, cause even when they did need a goalie when demko and halak were out, martin got called up from the AHL
