Doesn't seem too far-fetched to think that the Nathan Drake Collection will eventually make its way to PC.

Might be a while before I find some footing, definitely the most in-depth Paradox game I've played in a long long time

I own but actually never have played the first two. I started playing The Witcher 3 about a year ago but once they announced the next gen upgrade I stopped and decided to wait until it's out to continue.

Easy $$
I don't mind it for games I haven't played or ones where they're coming to PC for the first time so selfishly I don't mind

I don't mind if it's a old game. It's sometimes nice to replay a game with modern graphics and updated mechanics. Then there's the games that I never did play the originals.
What I don't like is when a game is not even 10 years old. Whether you consider it a remake or another remaster it was unnecessary to do TLOU P1. They could have used that time to make a new game.

Yeah and the audacity to charge full price for that game pisses me off too. I'll wait till it's free on PS+ or something.

finished A Plague Tale: Requiem. Maaaaaan ... that was great. Like I said, the framerate drops in some areas were annoying as ####, but I loved pretty much everything else. Playing both games back to back was a lot of fun.

Good point. I agree that the first Witcher is a good remake candidate as I feel a lot of people that played Witcher 3 or 2 may have not played the original. Also RE4 remake is a good idea because it was a NGC exclusive and lots of people never owned that console. It's probably TLOU that spurned my negativity towards remakes as it was totally unnecessary.

Ehhh RE4 was a Gamecube exclusive for like 9 months. Then it hit PS2 and has since been released for basically every platform under the sun.

TLOU Part 1 is way better than TLOU Remastered, which was, until the remake was released, the best game ever made.
I have said it before, but if you want to put out a remake and you're thinking "should we do this", if by releasing said remake you will have immediately published the best video game that has ever been released, go ahead. They could remake it again when the HBO show is done, for all I care. Until someone else makes a better piece of storytelling in this medium and takes the crown, anyway. I mean, it's been ten years - you'd think someone else would have managed it.
In fairness it absolutely is a money grab to try to capitalize on an HBO show but I don't really care. It's a game worth paying for multiple times at full price, as far as I'm concerned. Of all the brazen money-grabs that game developers go for this one is, to me, completely innocuous - it's not like they added loot boxes or pay to win mechanics. As for the "time could have been spent elsewhere", it apparently didn't take THAT long, given how short the window was from announcement to release.
I want more remakes in the AAA space... most new AAA games are aggressively mediocre.

And it originally came out in 2005 so it's 17 years old. Like alot of the Resident Evil games I never did play the originals. I remember playing RE1 on PlayStation when I lived with my cousin and his wife the year I lived in Winnipeg going to college but other than that I didn't start actively playing them until RE5.

The project started in 2018 according to this article. And they had to stall working on it to help finish Part II.

It definitely is... in terms of interactive storytelling. It's basically the only video game that has actually had consistently competently-acted cutscenes that are technically executed to a point where competent acting comes through, and a character-driven story, and with characters that are halfway believable as actual humans to boot. That's not a high bar for film or TV obviously but in the video game space it's apparently totally impossible to clear for some reason.
Granted I still haven't made a ton of progress through RDR2, so caveat that one. But I have played more or less everything else that could possibly try to make the claim to do likewise and... nope. Even when someone actively sets out to try to make a game that's basically an interactive movie like Detroit: Become Human, they just can't seem to pull it off.

Nathan Drake storyline is as good or better than TLOU as are the characters. Both are top notch, and obviously made by the same studio.
